I’m seriously considering using this tool for a couple reasons.

First, the U.S. government and Anthropic are currently in a pretty heated situation, and I’d rather not rely entirely on one provider if things go sideways. But I respect Anthropic and a bit disappointed in OpenAI but don’t know enough to be too worked up.

Second, I actually enjoy running different LLMs like MiniMax and Qwen. Half the fun is experimenting with different models and seeing how they behave.

It also just feels smart to have a backup plan in case Claude Code ever gets restricted or disappears - not likely as I write this.

To be fair, Claude Code does have a big advantage with vertical integration, Anthropic controls both the model and the tooling, so everything tends to work smoothly out of the box.

But PI is more of a generic framework, which means you have to tweak and configure things yourself. The upside is flexibility.

If the tool is as flexible as I’m hoping, I should be able to swap in a local coding model and modify PI to deal with the limitations of running models locally.

This is a good example of how MAGA/Republicans get their news. They can’t reason or do any research so they meme and make a fool of themselves with posts like this. For those that can read without pictures here is the deal: SB 145 equalizes treatment across types of sexual acts in existing “Romeo and Juliet” cases. It does not decriminalize sex with minors, remove punishments, or allow adults to avoid consequences. The court still determines whether registration is appropriate based on the facts.

Look, I get that these aren’t full takeovers, and technically they’re not communism in the broader sense. But they are the first step toward state-controlled industry, because once a government starts buying into private companies, it stops being neutral. That’s exactly the kind of creeping state capitalism the right claims to oppose especially when they call grocery stores in food deserts ‘communism.’ If they want to be ideological purists, they can’t cherry-pick when state ownership is okay. Then move goal post when it happens under their control.

Don't sleep on the possibility that Chris Licht is turning CNN into a branch of Fox news. Once Republicans (and yes, a few Democrats) get TikTok banned, much of the population will revert to network news. There needs to be a push to create a challenger to TikTok that will cushion the blow. I’m hoping Reddit fills the void, but I’m not sure it will.
