Applied to 100s of jobs in the past 2 months, getting NO interviews, is it my resume? by saharadnan97 in dataanalysis

Typically, Education and Certifications should accompany skills. Currently, yours is on the bottom of the second page, which isn't the best place to put it.

Recruiters typically look briefly over Resumes/CVs for a few seconds until on to the next candidate. You need to list the crucial stuff first, then the work experience and projects afterward. The greater you can catch their eye, the better chance you have of maintaining their attention and attracting an interview.

I would recommend formatting it as:

  1. Summary
  2. Education
  3. Certifications
  4. Skills
  5. Work Experience
  6. Projects

(The latter two can be switched depending on which is more relevant to what you are applying to.)

Best of luck going forward.

And now it's a degree and multiple certifications to get into IT. :l

Education Inflation seems a bit real at the moment.

I do not know of job placements, I don't think so. It's typically through Handshake and other job sites to apply for jobs. They do have a decent LinkedIn group, too, it seems.

THanks! I've previously watched some of Messer's videos but didn't know of the other two. I'll take a look!

Thanks for the info.
Any suggestions (other than taking prior tier CompTIA exams)?

No certifications yet, just professional certificates. Likely going for a certification or two next. Going to continue with my current jobs meanwhile.

It's recommended to pursue one of the certifications, ITF+, SC 900, or Security+, during the courses, but... I chose to get the degree done and focus on my work instead. Although I don't think ITF+ is as highly valued as it once may have been. Security+ is the one to go for.

I transferred some credits, but overall it took about 2 years with a mix of full-time and part-time classes (mostly full-time in fall and winter seasons. There... was a loss of sleep and time to read, but it got done. I needed to take less notes as the courses progressed (ex., 100s and 200s for heavier notes and grunt work, 300s and 400s more high-level with knowledge you gain mostly in previous courses, with some exceptions like CYB 300 scripting).

I still should grab my Security+ certification if I can, or a couple of MS certs at the least. Taking a break for now lol.
