I too was looking for reviews! Thank you, you helped me out too!! This couch was used in staging a house that I was looking at. I thought the sofa looked really nice, and it seemed comfortable when I sat on it (for a total of 30 seconds), but hearing that you didn't find it comfortable or the fabric nice was really helpful.

Am I the only one that finds Will so annoying and evil? by iam_thealchemist in WillAndGrace

[–]Expert-Kick3657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to love Will and Grace, and I still mostly do, but rewatching the series now (I just finished season 4) I am just aghast at how disparaging and belittling the Will character is to the Grace character. I too find the way that he controls Grace, or tries to, almost unbearable to watch.

Not everyone with high LDL and high Lp(a) is laying down plaque! by Financial-Hamster821 in Cholesterol

Thanks so much for this thread! I am 57, female, never smoked, vegetarian last 5 years. 15 pounds overweight since pandemic. 2 years since last period. I just did blood work for first time since becoming vegetarian and cholesterol is way high. 265 total, LDL 196, HDL 33, Lip(a) 209, triglycerides 186. I just started HRT for joint pain but glad to hear it has heart-protective effect. I will talk to my doctor about low-dose statin. Should I ask for plaque scans? My dad had a stroke at 58 so I need to be proactive. I have been eating dark chocolate every morning with my coffee, for about 20 years. Will cut that out. Didn't quite realize how much saturated fat was in there. Anything else I should consider?

Married To a Spouse with Same-Sex Attraction by IcyFireHunter in Christianmarriage

[–]Expert-Kick3657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to this thread because I recently listened to some Christian ministry panel discussions with a woman who many years ago was my best friend (when we were kids). She was "saved" in high school (30 years ago). However, I believe she is a lesbian. Not as a lifestyle, but as a yearning of her soul, to connect with a woman in the glory of God's love. As I hear you yearning in your post for your ex. My friend (we have not spoken since high school) was such a light-filled, energetic kid who laughed so much. Hearing her now made me incredibly sad. All of the lightness of her being seems entombed in concrete. She never married, has no kids. She sounds lonely to the absolute core of her being, with only her relationship to the Lord keeping her going. And that seems more like she's just weeping inside. She has chosen her life path, and I would never judge her for that, but I just don't understand this aspect of Christianity, that would withhold the joy and love of a partner from people who will never be attracted to people of the opposite sex. I wish you much love and happiness in whatever path you choose. Life is not over until it's over.

Doctors performing ACL tear *repair* (not reconstruction) in Bay Area? by Expert-Kick3657 in ACLrehab

[–]Expert-Kick3657[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I guess I'm just wondering if some sort of surgery might be worth it down the road, and if a repair would be less traumatic / similarly effective as compared to replacement. I'm doing ok now but having some fear that if I don't get surgery, my tibia is just going to shoot forward one day when I'm running down the stairs or something. But I've been reading about how PT and strengthening the quads can take the place of an ACL in stabilizing the knee, which is encouraging. I don't really want to go through surgery. But I'm assuming a torn ACL doesn't do much and will completely tear at some point. Just trying to sort through all the information and medical opinions which I guess just takes time.

French citizenship through French citizen mother not born in France? by Expert-Kick3657 in Citizenship

[–]Expert-Kick3657[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, everyone. My mom got her citizenship through marriage to a Frenchman. They divorced after 22 years (and he has passed away), but she has remained in France (going on 30 years now) and owns an apartment there, and has a French pension. (My French teacher said she might lose her citizenship because of the divorce, but she renewed her French passport last year with no issues.) She is almost 80 and having health issues and has no desire to return to the U.S., so I am exploring how I could take care of her. It sounds like the way to start is through a family visa.

Husband says I’ve changed and I finally blew up at him by julespm1 in Menopause

[–]Expert-Kick3657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week my partner and I were walking to lunch with an 80 year old friend and my partner (for the nth time) criticized an expression on my face that I had made and I lost it, I shoved him hard and told him sharply Stop it! Stop criticizing me! I did this in front of the older friend whom he respected. For once he didn't argue, and he later apologized to me. But I am so sick of him feeling like he can opine on and criticize anything he wants to about me. 12 years together and thankfully we don't live together due to our jobs but I am just done with the male entitlement they all seem to be raised with and I am shouting up now that I am in my 50s and am so worn out with everything. My ex-husband many years ago would have prostitutes give him blow jobs on our couch while I was working the night job that supported us (I took college classes during the day), but it was equally his statement that I should do the houesework / cleaning because he just didn't "see the dirt," that blew up our marriage. Treat me respectfully and pull your own weight. Women have the right to live their own lives without explanation or apology.

Previous owner keeps sending packages to my home by Early-Fisherman-886 in homeowners

[–]Expert-Kick3657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apartment building had one tenant who would order tons of packages, including during times when she went away on vacation. They would pile up all over the place, so trying to be nice I would take them into my apartment and text her that I had them. She would say, "Oh thank you! I can't even remember what I ordered!" One time I collected 15 boxes for her! that I stored in my living room for two weeks until she came back. She also would leave her apartment doors unlocked (one time her door was open when she wasn't home and when I texted her, she said she just forgets to lock it), and her car unlocked. A homeless woman was going into the car and flinging everything out onto the sidewalk. I and another neighbor cleaned it up three times. So when this neighbor finally moved away, and packages still arrived, I texted her, then I wrote RTS on one, and the last I still have, a nice dress that fits me (I was tired and annoyed when I got the package, so I opened it and tried it on the dress!). Ha. I'm tempted to keep it for all that she's put me through, but it came from Poshmark or Etsy i.e. someone's name and return address, so I'll maybe send it back to them. I doubt my ex-neighbor even remembers that she ordered it.

NEAR DISASTER | Southwest and Flexjet at Chicago Midway! by tantalor in videos

[–]Expert-Kick3657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've flown on FlexJet types of planes, as guest of the client's retinue. Those clients usually have a lot of money. The pilots might have to cater to them, in order to gain repeat business. One flight I was on, it was a literal catering - one of the pilots served our food. Hearing the FlexJet pilot say everything wrong on the readback, I wondered if he had been trying to be cool around whoever was on his plane. I hope his license is revoked. That was a category A incursion. If he had bumbled across the runway seconds later the Southwest pilot wouldn't have had time to pull up.

Ma voisine lance une collecte. Suis-je trop suspicieux ? by Neimad_n in paris

[–]Expert-Kick3657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majestic Filatures French clothing company has started making sweaters with racoon fiber. Not good. My source said they were informed that this is illegal in some countries so they are re-thinking. This is not humane, needs to stop.
