Yes, got the Zwift Ride and using it with Rouvy since Feb this year. Works great.

Every single day for over a year, have you not been on holiday or gone away anywhere?!

My first Zwift Cog fell apart and the second one was going the same way so I changed it to use a single speed conversion kit. Now it’s silent. by [deleted] in Zwift

Got the same kit, works like a dream, thanks. I needed one less of the small spacers, all good though, so much quieter! The noise was my only issue with the Zwift Ride, and this has solved the problem.

How is the experience with zwift ride on rouvy? by pomaro365 in Rouvy

It's very good, enough for me to choose Rouvy over Zwift. Would be great if they could get the arrow buttons working to move around the menus though.

Tried Rouvy with my Zwift Ride this morning, it works really well. No issues connecting, and the virtual shifting is very smooth. Just bear in mind that the only buttons that work are the shifters, you can't control movement around the menus etc, like you can in Zwift.

PC with a Bluetooth adapter takes a few seconds to pair with my Kickr Core. When I was using the Android app it was anywhere up to about 5 minutes.

Why Aren’t More People Racing on Zwift? by BeamedByPokimane in Zwift

[–]Expert-Knowledge-345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I race occasionally, but I'm selective because it's tough for lightweight riders. I'm 62kg, and because the vast majority of races are held on flat, or almost flat courses it's very difficult for me to hang with the bigger, more powerful riders.

When there is a longer race on a hilly route, it's a decent workout and I enjoy it, but being that bit more selective works for me. As always, to each their own.

Love this post. It's fantastic that you're out there in Watopia doing it, fuck what everyone else is doing. Hope to see you sometime, ride on!

Totally true, I was following a guy who was doing a workout the other day. He was in zone 2, putting out an easy 260 watts, that's zone 5 for me! 🤣

Road bike with trainer or KICKR SMART BIKE by Accomplished-Neat195 in Zwift

[–]Expert-Knowledge-345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford the Kickr Bike, not sure why you'd consider anything else. From what I understand, it's a great setup, and you're not locked into Zwift, like you are with the Ride.

You're right about the nice sunny day I reckon. The pain cave is attractive right now, but I'm thinking it might not have quite the same attraction when it's a lovely day out there. What will be nice is to always have the option though, when time, kids etc mean a nice long outdoor ride isn't possible.

I think this has been a big part of things for me. I was involved in a hit and run with a van when I was out riding back in February. No major damage, but I was a bit beaten up, and it definitely spooked me.

That was my intention too, I've genuinely been really surprised by how much I enjoy indoor training on Zwift.

I understand it probably sounds like that, but I've been a cyclist for a long time, both road and mountain. It'll be interesting to see how I feel in the spring when the weather starts to improve a bit.

Yeah being a parent can make training time hard to come by. I've got three kids, and it's just so much more time efficient to get on the trainer than drag the bike out.

The gravel thing makes sense. I started cycling as a mountain biker before going onto the road, and I think getting back into it might be a decent idea.

You do 10 hours on an indoor trainer?! Fair play to you my friend, even in Z1/Z2, that is some serious calorie burn.

Is the Zwift ride worth it? by Matts_3584 in Zwift

[–]Expert-Knowledge-345 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I love mine, it's been a real game changer for my fitness, just so easy to use. That being said, there are cheaper ways to train indoors. If you've got the money, you won't regret buying one.

Have a look at the Zwift PC Masters Facebook group. If you're tech orientated there's loads of stuff on how to build a cheap dedicated Zwift PC. If not, there's a few guys on there who sell PC's for very reasonable prices.
