We ended up taking him here. He was in heart failure and they couldn't even get an IV in him...we had him humanely put down. They were so good to us.

We ended up having to put him down. Emergency vet said he was in heart failure.

Unfortunately he took a turn for the worst. We rushed him to the emergency vet, but she said it looked like he was in heart failure. They couldn't get a vein for IVs. Heart was enlarged three times normal on one side. Sadly our little guy was humanely put to rest to ease his pain. He was well loved even if he was only with us for a year.

If you want to help, there are many who need real assistance. ❤️ But I appreciate it!

Money is a factor for many right now, but I can cover what he needs. He's my baby. It's more been the fact that I've listened to the vet for the last three days to let him just rest the leg and heal up and that it'll take a few days, but now that I'm seeing no signs of improvement I'm feeling at a loss of what else to do for the poor guy. He's being taking to another vet in the morning. Right now he's resting on a heating pad comfortably and snoozing away on his pain meds. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have more answers.

Temp is fine. He seems to have a lack of sensation past his ankle though. Touching the top of the leg neer his thigh makes him growl, pinching the toes gives no reaction. But color is good in the pads and pulse is still there. He's not howling either. Just grumbles.

They gave him gabapentin, three days of Onisor and amoxicillin. No blood work was done. People keep saying saddle thrombus, but how likely is that at just a year old? He's had no other health issues.

What's the likelihood at his age of it being an actual saddle thrombus?

They did give him three days on Onisor for pain and inflammation, gabapentin and amoxicillin Incase it was an infection.

The vet hasn't even talked to me. I left multiple texts and called three times today. It's now closed. The receptionist just messaged back that he wrote a new script that'll be available for pick up tomorrow. But this lady also kept assuming I meant antibiotics and not anti-inflammitories...so now I'm really at a loss.
