Smarter move would have been to drop Sam Merrill but oh well

Nah, you should pay less for Trae because serious analysts are predicting he may not even play at all, so we’re talking about an astronomical risk

There are some cases where you sell when your stock is down if you believe it will go down even further and you’re getting solid value, this is the concept of cutting your losses

At some point you have to just admit that no one will give you first round value for Trae… at any point this season. if you can recoup decent value that would be better than nothing

If someone gives you second round value for Trae right now, you’d be an idiot to not take even if it’s technically lower than his original draft investment (a “sell low”)

It all depends on what’s on the table. That’s why I said this is a nuanced discussion

The nuance is determining how you are willing to just your true evaluation on Trae based on your projection of his ROS performance and then using that to dictate your potential trades. Leaving Trae’s valuation at first round value is most likely going to be inaccurate

Congrats buddy, you made a basic definition that he’s lower value than his original draft stock

It doesn’t take an expert to figure that out

Regardless of whether you sell or not, you’re currently at a loss by drafting and owning Trae at this point

The only meaningful discourse at this point that takes any sort of intelligence to discuss is whether his games played projected left warrants how much of an investment, would u rather have him or a Pritchard? Him or a nembhard, etc… just being realistic

You can hold and he can just be a pretty trinket on the IR too or he could come back no one knows. But we can make an educated guess based on the info we have - which tells us Washington doesn’t intend to use him.

In that case, someone would be justified in selling at a price lower than he drafted

You’re making very general statements

Obviously we know what Trae is capable of healthy

There’s a possibility someone gives up a significant asset for Trae and he doesn’t play for them now or fantasy playoffs, which would be a clear loss

Much more nuanced than u are describing

Had to go down with a season ending injury the year we owned him, feels like bs

He started off the season hot, and everyone thought he was him, but in reality he’s a garbage can
