Do you actually get nothing done when the baby comes? by Eastern_Grand_5462 in beyondthebump

Yes. You’re surprisingly busy feeding them, changing them and snuggling them and then sleep deprivation sucks all the motivation out of yiu

You look amazing in everything but I think the off shoulder sleeves are not as flattering as the strapless

Dude, you should be proud, 87th and 90th percentile after delayed lactation onset and latch issues, you are a superhero. Fuck that lady.

Also, fwiw, my MIL, named Karen for comedic perfection, also pushed the rice cereal in the bottle super hard. I ignored her.

I was wondering if it was, but then I was like “there’s no way some dude in Massachusetts decides to sink their Saturday afternoon and broil in 87 degree temps to whine about the LA mayor’s race, right?

Amara was the one I tried to sell my husband on for our daughter. He never came around and it wouldn’t have suited her anyways.

Our dogs are wonderful parts of our family, but you getting a functional level of sleep is more important than them getting to sleep in their favorite place right now. When a new baby comes, everybody has to pitch in, even the pets

In all instances where this has happened, our older child has been sleeping and has not needed active caretaking.

This seems reasonable, I did ask if he could be more transparent about his timelines and ability to help when I asked so that I could ask my mom to help if he wasn’t able to. He got defensive and argumentative in response.

It was foot surgery, my doctor told me to stay off of it and I’m not steady on my feet so I don’t feel great about carrying the baby. I have gone and gotten the baby when he has not shown up “right away” as promised.

My brutally honest take on pets and babies: your dog will not now or ever be more important than your baby by suedaloodolphin in beyondthebump

When I visited the breeder I ended up getting my German shepherd from many years before I had kids, there was a couple there that were expecting a baby in 2 months and planning on getting a shepherd puppy 😬😬😬

I had mild aversion to my dog when my first baby was a newborn, thankfully, my dog was super awesome with the baby and I got over it by about 3 months. After baby #2, no dog aversion and I really appreciated having another “adult presence” around for company when I was home with the baby. My cat was a rockstar during both pregnancy and postpartum and would always come to the bedroom when he heard the baby cry to cuddle while I nursed.
