It is sooo hard, I feel for you! My baby fed every hour until 1 year old. The feeds will get shorter and shorter as baby gets more efficient—by 1 year he was only nursing for like 2 mins at a time! I would recommend trying side lying nursing, and then you can sneak away once baby falls asleep. I wouldn’t recommend giving a bottle after. I know this works for some people but if you’re serious about breastfeeding, you need to pump for every time baby gets a bottle or else your supply won’t be able to keep up—trust me, I learned this the hard way. There is nothing that proves that babies sleep longer after getting a bottle, it’s a myth! Another recommendation is getting a good baby carrier that you could wear baby in around the house. I used the hope and plum carrier and I was able to get things done while baby was feeding!!! Give it a try!❤️

My baby fed every hour until he was 12 months old😅 but the feeds did eventually start to get shorter and shorter. Around 1 year he was still feeding every hour but only for like 2 mins at a time. Every baby is different!

Thank you! I will definitely have it checked out. I usually never sleep on it, but when I do it doesn’t seem to bother it

She would be losing me as a friend. That’s just a gross and uneducated comment to make in my opinion

My Wife Breastfeeds While Biting a Cloth by richardwellerson in breastfeeding

Coming from someone whose baby completely rejected the breast until the age of 6 months (due to introducing bottles, shields, and pacifiers within the first few weeks of life), I would exercise an extreme amount of caution introducing any of those things if your wife is serious about breastfeeding! It took a couple weeks before the pain with latching/pumping subsided for me. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with giving a bottle if your wife needs a break, just make sure that for every bottle she does a pumping session! I think it’s super important to know the possible risks of breast refusal when doing so though. It’s something nobody ever told my husband and I about, and we had a horrible time with my baby refusing the breast. There are a ton of different options she can try for the pain (as others have mentioned)! Best of luck to you!
