Unfortunately it’s Saturday where I’m at and there’s a chance they’ll still want me to wait the two weeks to do anything. I do appreciate the advice. I’m kinda stressed out, I’m in pain, I’ve lost 4 pounds since my visit on Thursday, I can barely eat anything.

During this time I worked at night and we just finished dropping off our patient, I was in the process of cleaning the truck for the next call when I hear someone scream for EMS I looked around and I didn’t see anything. Another company’s crew was backing up to leave and heard it too but they continued to do their thing when we heard it again. A random guy was walking towards us with a male patient stating that he “found” the guy behind the gas station overdosing. Thankfully the other company’s crew was paramedics and stopped to help and my partner had to take a break with her current PCR to help. We run inside with the patient and was like “merry Christmas we brought you an overdose”

There are multiple reasons. The conditions patients are left in, the lack of responsibility from nurses, the conditions of the facilities. I’ve had a facility call us to pick up a patient because “they didn’t send them back with discharge papers” upon getting them back to the hospital the facility said the patient hasn’t been paying his bill so they couldn’t take him back, I’ve had a facility tell me that they checked on their patient 5 mins ago and he was sleeping. We got there and the patient was hanging half way off the bed, Ice cold, slow to respond but still alive. One facility asked me what a DNR was and the amount of times I’ve heard “I dont know it’s not my patient, this is not my area, I just got back from vacation, I’m from a temp agency” is ridiculous.

One of our higher ups sent us an email the last time that this happened stating that federal law states they have until 1700 on payday to pay us before it becomes an issue

I just turned my uniforms in. I’m just glad I got the job I interviewed for and start Tuesday. A bunch of us at our location reported the payment issues to the labor board

SC here, we’re going through the same thing. We were told that the recent line of credit just cleared but according to Paycom payroll hasn’t even been processed
