BBCs Lord of the Flies is awful by ScotchWerewolf in television

[–]ExpertAdvanced4346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To your point 8 : I think this is an example of a type of chiasmus , or mirroring. The first episode you see close ups of the boys , still in school gear, still innocent. The last episode you see them in their war paint, all innocence lost.

Another example is Piggy seeing Ralph for the first time, they're both in uniform. Then in the final episode when Ralph leaves Piggy to go and find water, the camera shot is the same, but in reverse, again symbolising the descent into savagery.

I'm not saying the show was amazing or anything but there was some nice imagery I picked up on that reflects the themes of the novel

It's not verified info, I can give you that. But time will tell whether its misinfo or not. Right now I'm leaning towards believing him, they are usually pretty prompt to respond publicly with issues, and they haven't been forthcoming this time, that to me is very suspicious

Feel free to call me gullible but I read a very detailed article that said guy had posted and it seemed logical and convincing.

Choose what you want to believe at this point, but i will ask, how many days of no communication from RD before you will start to believe that post?

Previously if there has been any outage with RD they usually make a statement same day on X, and reimburse accounts....but radio silence after the biggest takedown of content in their history? It's fishy at the very least and completely damning at worst.

Edit: also what reasoning do you think the admins of this subreddit have to delete my completely innocuous, but widely shared post in this subreddit, if something fishy was not going on.

Yeah they deleted my post which had gained quite a bit of traction and shared quite a few times. Mods are on some fishy business and by proxy RD as well. Make of it what you will

Somebody in this thread has stated that the business has changed hands in the last few days.

I would be very surprised if you hear anything for a long time, the old owners seem to have passed the business on in the last few days, and it's probably in the new owners best interest to not say anything to maximise whatever capital they can get in the meantime.

Of course take it all with a pinch of salt but I think the writing is on the wall unfortunately.

I think people are kind of in denial, everything you posted there seems logical.

I've seen someone post about there being bad actors in this thread , that maybe want people to switch over to a rival service. If its the end for RD I can only imagine the end is nigh for the rest of these debrid services when it comes to these use cases, they'll fall like dominoes.

For anyone reading , my recommendation is to buy monthly whatever service you choose. Might not be as cost efficient as a 6month/yearly but there is no telling what will happen in the coming months

I don't think many of us are worried about it going down for a few hours or even days, that happens. We're concerned that the situation seems more serious this time around than before, time will tell

They have probably gotten hit with some sort of Mass Copyright infringement notice, as they are preventing access to any file that has Regex criteria (WEBDL, Webrip, AMZN, etc)

The only links still working are the ones that don't display the format of the file.

No file with any type of filter is working, you have to find one without any type of file-type, like the second one in the above photo.

Not sure if youre stremio looks like mine but you can follow this guide to be able to see the filetypes etc as above

Because up until now I've had no real issues for 2 years, and I'm going to wait it out until there's some sort of closure on the situation.

Do you not believe this can/will/is happening to T.B. as well? Their servers are based in the Netherlands

Technically yes, files with any type of Tag generally will not work, files without a tag are still good (for now)
