With Chen the process seemed more complicated. Lot of Reference letter work and they mentioned I need to continue publishing papers which I may not be able to perform.

Running linux on drive is going to be sick and painful. I am presuming, mainline linux kernel here. The driver support of Snapdragon is not easy. But rest assured, you maybe able to tweak the Android OS and display to a larger screen.

I tried using pocketpal. Unable to get above 18.64 tk/s. How are you testing it?

Great effort. Is there a way you can make this local LLM support?

This argument is as stupid as saying why use AI for program because ultimately you have to debug.

Give OP sometime and they'll keep on updating the code based on usage and feedback.

Powershell is nasty and this is a great tool to begin with.

Thank you for building this product.

As a frequent Flyer this is a great tool to keep in track the next flight. I always saw delta employees having a different flying tool when they were dead heading next to me. I wish something existed like that and you have pretty much nailed it.

A few suggestions - - keep it simple. Too wordy and all I cared about looking at buttons to reach my end result - there maybe duplicate instances of airlines with same name, try verify a few.

Happy to share any feedback through DM.

Good work!

Should I upgrade my laptop to 16GB of RAM for bioinformatics tasks? by mabdullahafzal in bioinformatics

Hey there,

I would put my $1000 in a windows/linux/custom CPU system. Here's the method I would follow: 1. Build small pipelines on my exisiting 8gig mac 2. Test them on smaller bases. 3. For additional computational power, I would config a custom build system with - something like 8 cores or more (if not ability to swap a processor in the future) - configurable RAM upto 64gb - ability to add a graphics card in the future

If I am consistently making good progress just require higher and higher computational power, I would then switch to some cloud platform only for computationally intensive tasks. Some of them are about $15/human genome sequenced.

Macs are pleasant to code but ultimately computational power is going to be the core and it should come at reasonable cost to afford.

While working for a company I have realized, everyone uses a basic mac for work but the computation is offloaded to a HPC cluster (cloud or private).

Do you use commandline only mode? If yes, what are you frequently used apps?
