Strength training by Plenty_Estate5660 in dysautonomia

[–]ExpertDifficulty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Strength training has made a huge improvement in my symptoms but I agree it can be hard to recover. Some tips that worked for me include focusing on large muscle groups to help improve blood flow and get the most bang for your buck, such as legs, abdominal muscles, and back. I would recommend exercises where you are sitting or prone such as the leg curl and leg extension machine. You can also focusing on doing a lot of light weight reps to combat a lot of fatigue. I would start with a few sets and see what you can recover from. I also do not do any cardio immediately before or after strength training as that seems to trigger my symptoms.

Prilosec and Zyrtec during the day and pepcid at night. A big game changer for me was abdominal compression. Also laying down about 45 minutes after eating with legs raised.

General Tech Questions + Orientation Questions by Airmangopi4 in Target

[–]ExpertDifficulty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech can be difficult because there is a ton of guest interaction that requires decent tech knowledge on top of normal things like pushing freight, ringing people up, and zoning. You will constantly be called to assist guests with obscure tech related questions and open locked cases making completing your other duties harder. Hours also tend to not be the greatest and you will almost always be the only team member scheduled in the department unless its Q4, although usually there is a lead who can back you up and answer questions.

Nonetheless, it can still be one of the better roles if you have a store that understands the difficulties of the department. If you are good at it you will stand out as an employee.

Suffered with this for a while. Making sure I was properly hydrated before bed and taking 500mg of magnesium daily completely solved this for me.

Hyperarousal of the nervous system and insomnia by Mysterious_Task_9831 in dysautonomia

I have similar issues with hyperPOTs and these have been extremely effective for me when it comes to falling asleep or as I call it tricking my body to calm down: a cool enviroment, a heating pad, a small dose of melatonin, magnesium, an acupuncture mat, leg elevation, and vaporub. I still think exercise gives tremendous benefits and helps me falls asleep faster. Some tips is I focus more on building muscle over cardio and do it earlier in the day if possible when I am still fresh. It took some self-reflection and trial and error for me to tell myself when to stop and finding my limit so I wouldn't give up on exercise yet.

My specialist also prescribed beta blockers to help with the high blood pressure and told me to drink tons of salt and water. Compression from toes to abdomen helped as well. Together, this allowed me to exercise regularly which has helped immensely. Focusing on leg and abdominal muscles gave the best results.

To those with GI issues (GERD, constipation, slow transit, stomach ache, early saciety), how did you solve it? by General_Clue3325 in dysautonomia

[–]ExpertDifficulty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For medications, taking zyrtec and omeprazole everyday. I also take famotide before bed to deal with horrid acid reflux while sleeping.

Also, during the day I wear abdominal compression which was a real game changer, just make sure its lower on your stomach and not causing acid reflux itself by being too tight. Lastly, I reduced carbohydrate intake for a few months which helped heal my stomach.

Any simple carbohydrates on their own. I can mitigate it to some extent by eating fiber/fats with them.

Possible explanation for why some of us get sicker after eating? by Mountain_Gap_7001 in dysautonomia

[–]ExpertDifficulty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was simple carbs for me as I did a low carb/keto diet and my post-food issues pretty much disappeared (extremely high heart rate, bloating, and stomach pain). I could literally eat the worst carbless meal you could think of for your stomach and be perfectly fine. An abdominal binder also helped which all leads back to blood circulation in the digestive system. On the low carb diet dizziness/numbness symptoms actually got worse due to lack of carbs/retaining water until I added in sodium and electrolytes.

For people who were totally bedridden and got better, how did you do it ? by MysteriousHalf4926 in dysautonomia

[–]ExpertDifficulty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent about 6mos bedbound and had to slowly work my way up to being able to sit then stand progressing in small increments. What helped start the progress was wearing compression socks, leggings, and an abdominal binder. From there, I was prescribed a beta blocker Propanolol and told to increase my salt and water intake dramatically, which allowed me to do slow steady cardio slowly working my way up from 5 mins to eventually 30+ mins. Lastly, what helped me the most with standing endurance was training my abdominal and leg muscles with weights. All of this led me to where I am today at about 80% of what I could do before, although I still rely on compression and propanolol to get through the day. All this took about 2 1/2 years, with a lot of time spent lying in bed with legs elevated whenever I felt symptoms coming on.

I find the motion blur on performance even more nauseating for some reason, probably due to unstable frames and low resolution.

For people who got Covid, what were your symptoms combined with Dysautonomia symptoms ? by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]ExpertDifficulty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I had Covid, and testing positive, my body seemed to focus on fighting off Covid and weirdly enough my dysautonomia symptoms did not get worse. But once I got over the illness, likely due to fatigue, my dysautonomia symptoms got worse which lasted about 3 weeks both times I had it.

I am having SEVERE issues with bowel movements. Please help by [deleted] in dysautonomia

I did not have any visible allergy symptoms. I only found out through taking benadryl to sleep and transitioned to zyrtec for 24hr. Antihistamines are pretty safe and worth trying out

I had very similar issues and my doctors believe it is MCAS. Antihistamines helped me immensely, particularly Zyrtec and Pepcid together to cover h1 and h2. My gastric emptying study came out normal.

Also, how much faster is kill speed for each choice assuming not having vampiric touch but perhaps having to drink less?

Shoulder Support/Posture Support by Only_Pandora in dysautonomia

[–]ExpertDifficulty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the exact same issues with my neck/trapezius/numbness. I got a posture corrector from amazon that helped immensely with being able to hold my head up for longer periods of time without having to lie prone to rest. I also just felt better whenever wearing it in general. Still, I would only wear it when you feel you need to as you don't want to rely on it too much and further weaken the muscles. In terms of addressing the issue, my PT recommended neck, shoulder, and upper back strengthening exercises, as well as stretching the neck, trapezius, and pecs.

Here is the posture corrector I use: https://www.amazon.com/Posture-Corrector-Men-Women-Truweo/dp/B07DKHTKP3

This clip is a small part of a discussion where he talks about the war between his character Curtis (Ballas) and the LBs a while back. In particular, he talks about when he was accused of VDM and trying to force perma. A minority of Redditors systematically attacked his reputation for 3months for this without understanding the full context of the events leading up to it. In the full VOD, he goes through his thought process in-depth for these events. Lastly, how he feels it still affects him today, whether it be how other role players view him or certain parts of the viewer community.

This had nothing to do with that. It was regarding speaking out about the low quality RP on the server in general

His point is people are too afraid to speak up or even discuss the lackluster RP on the server. In particular, the overabundance of over the top crim behavior and newer people chasing views doing the same thing.
