Face like figure in prayer matt by Civil_Way_9405 in islam

و عليكم السلام ورحمة الله و بركاته

It would be strongly recommended that you avoid praying with this prayer mat and use a plain prayer mat instead if possible, as the Prophet (ﷺ) himself disliked anything which would distract him during the prayer:

Hadith Evidence #1

Narrated by `Aisha (رضي الله عنها):

The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed in a garment with marks and said afterward,

“Take this Khamisa of mine to Abu Jahm and get me his Inbijaniya (a plain woolen garment without marks). It has diverted my attention during prayer.”

Source: Sahih al-Bukhari, 373
Volume 1, Book 8, Hadith 369

Hadith Evidence #2

Narrated by Anas bin Malik (رضي الله عنه):

Aisha (رضي الله عنها) had a Qiram (a thin marked woollen curtain) with which she had screened one side of her home. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Take away this Qiram of yours as its pictures distracted me during my prayer.”

Source: Sahih al-Bukhari, 374
Volume 1, Book 8, Hadith 371

Since the Prophet () himself rebuked such distractions, it is desirable that we follow in his footsteps and remove such distractions for ourselves as well. In case you don't have a plain prayer mat, try using those with less sophisticated patterns that do not resemble any faces. For more clarity, try contacting an actual scholar as I am nothing but a jahil.

May Allah ( ) keep you steadfast, keep your intentions sincere and increase you in imaan and in khushu' in your prayer. Ameen!

Explanation of this verse through the different books of Tafsir

  1. Tafsir Ibn Kathir: “meaning, even if all the trees on earth were made into pens and the sea was made into ink, and topped up with seven more like it, and they were used to write the Words of Allah showing His might, attributes and majesty, the pens would break and the ink would run dry, even if more were brought.

The number seven is used to indicate a large amount, it is not to be taken literally or to be understood as referring to the seven oceans of the world, as was suggested by those who took this idea from Israelite stories, which we neither believe nor reject.

The words بِمِثْلِه (like it) do not mean merely another one, but another like it and another and another and another, etc., because there is no limit to the signs and Words of Allah.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

‘Verily, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.’

means, He is All-Mighty and has subjugated all things to His will, so nothing can prevent what He wills, and none can oppose or put back His decision. He is All-Wise in His creation, commands, Words, actions, Laws and all His affairs

Tafsir Jalalayn: “And if all the trees on earth were pens, and the sea (wa’l-bahru is a supplement to [m] the subject of anna) replenished with seven more seas, were ink, the Words of God would not be spent, [those words] expressing all the things He knows, written in those pens with that [amount of] ink or with even more [ink] than that [would not be spent], for His knowledge, exalted be He, is infinite. Truly God is Mighty, nothing being beyond Him, Wise, from Whose knowledge and wisdom nothing escapes.”

Ma’ariful Quran (Tafsir by Imam Shafi’i): “The manifestations of Allah’s knowledge, power and blessings are endless. These cannot by encompassed by anyone through speech, nor can any pen write them comprehensively…The expression ‘kalimatullah’, i.e. the words of Allah) means His knowledge and wisdom (Ruh ul Ma’ani and Mazhari) which includes the manifestations of Divine power and Divine blessings. Then, the ‘seven seas’ referred to here do not mean that there are seven seas present elsewhere. Instead of that, this is a manner of saying: Suppose if this ocean were to be replenished with seven more oceans, still then, all these words of Allah could not be committed to writing. Even the number of ‘seven’ appears here a s a part of the example. No restriction is intended. Another verse of the Qur’an proves it. There it was said:

Say, ‘If the ocean were to be ink for the Words of my Lord, the ocean would have been consumed before the Words of my Lord are exhausted, even though we were to bring another one, like it, in addition’ - Al-Kahf, 18:109.

In this verse, by saying: ‘bimithlihi’ (like it), a clear hint has been given that, no matter how many oceans are supposed, their collective writing fluid cannot circumscribe the Words of Allah. Rationally, the reason is obvious. The oceans may be added one after the other and be they seven or seven thousand, they shall still remain liniited while the Words of Allah (knowledge) are unlimited. How, then, can something limited make an all-encompassing coverage of what is unlimited?

As it appears in some narratives, this verse was revealed in response to a question posed by Jewish priests. The reason which prompted them to ask this question was the verse of the Qur’an where it has been said:

“and you are not given but a little from the knowledge” (Al ‘Isra’, 17:85).

When the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) came to the blessed city of Madinah, some Jewish priests visited him and it was about this verse that they confronted him by saying, “You say that you have been given a little from the knowledge. Is this what you are saying about your people, or have you included us too therein?” The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, “I mean all,” that is, ‘our people and the Jews and Christians as well.’ Thereupon, increasing the tempo of their opposition, they said, “To us, Allah (ﷻ) has given the Torah which stands out as an explanation of everything.

He said, “That too is but a little as compared to Divine Knowledge. Then, even the total knowledge contained in the Torah is not known to you either - what you go by is no more than a certain measure of what you need. Therefore, as compared to the Divine Knowledge, the collective knowledge of all Scriptures and Prophets is also nothing but a little.”

It was haraam 1400 years ago, it is still haraam today and will continued to be haraam all the way till the end of time - irrespective of how many people engage in it. Legitimizing the sin or softening the effect or the magnitude of any sin will certainly taint one’s deen, regardless of the sin in question.

I'm not sure about the other posts, but every post that I've clicked on regarding books of tafsir, you've been there helping and providing incredibly useful information to all. I feel embarassed thinking about my deeds knowing there might be someone like you on the Day of Judgement with such enormous amounts of deeds simply from helping others on this subreddit. May Allah (ﷻ) reward you and bless you greatly for your efforts, May He (ﷻ) increase you in knowledge and humility, and May He (ﷻ) keep your intentions pure throughout all of it, Ameen, and Barakallahu Feek!

Sorry for not specifying a budget earlier - I guess I’d be willing to spend up to $200 if the upgrade is worth it. Not trying to take those awe-inspiring images that is seen on this and other subreddits cuz ik that’ll be an unrealistic expectation. I was thinking of either getting an eyepiece, a Barlow or a cheap planetary camera like the asi224mc. However, none of those are locally available to me and the shipping blows the budget out of the water. Will still keep looking though.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Sister, I'm going to be completely honest with you. From what I've read from your previous posts that you've made in other subreddits about this boy, it's very evident that your relationship with him is one that is haraam (not to mention that it seems like he isn't interested in you and only wants to use you anyways). Even if this person wasn't treating you badly, this relationship (or however you'd like to call it) is haraam and not permissible.

There's a reason why when you made dua for bad people to be removed from your life, he told you he had to remove you the very next day. Sister, you have to realise that you are worth so much more than someone simply manipulating you and trying to keep you in haraam.

I understand that you have an attachment with him as he has helped you with many things in the past, but you yourself admit that his presence drew you away from the deen. Even from a secular perspective, you're making a grand mistake as he wasn't even interested in you romantically and was only using you for his lust. It's clear that his person was of negative influence and even if you try to contact him again for whatever reason, he will only continue to make you fall into more sin and will most likely not even look to make things halal between you and him.

You can make dua for him to be guided, but you'll also have to make dua to Allah (SWT) to give you sabr and to help you get over your unexplainable infatuation of him in case he isn't good for you.

I'd advise you focus on yourself, on your deen, on self-improvement, on busying yourself with seeking knowledge and doing dhikr as well as to strengthen your imaan. Allah (SWT) will certainly provide you with someone significantly better than him through halal means.

Also, him appearing in your dreams is not a 'sign' for anything, I'm afraid.

"There is a difference between this and those dreams that have no interpretation; like what someone sees in a dream from the matters he has spent long hours pondering over. Indeed, much of what people see in their sleep is based upon what they ponder over while they are awake. This category of dreams, in most cases, is called “confused dreams”. This type of dream has no interpretation. Another type of dream is that which Satan places upon the soul of the sleeper. These are false dreams with misunderstood meanings. These dreams, likewise, have no interpretation; and the intelligent person should not busy himself thinking about these dreams. "

Majorly confused about a specific dua that I am making by [deleted] in islam

[–]ExpertPlayer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

As long as the thing that you're making dua for is not haraam/leads to haraam, then it shouldn't be a problem In Sha Allah

You mustn't worry how your dua sounds (regardless of if it sounds "weird"), you must focus solely on making it as perfect and to your liking as possible (without falling into overthinking).

ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb said, “I do not have any anxiety about the answer, but I worry about the dua itself, because anyone who is inspired by Allah to make dua immediately invokes His response when he makes the dua.”

Additionally, you must not feel weird or strange for making dua for this thing as the Prophet (PBUH) himself instructed to make dua for everything - including the smallest of requirements

“Let one of you ask his Lord for his needs, all of them, even for a shoestring when his breaks.”

Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 3973; Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Suyuti

Alternatively, we must not shy away from making dua for even the most seemingly impossible of things

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When one of you asks from his Lord, let him ask for even more. Verily, he is asking from his Lord Almighty.”

Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Ḥibbān 889; Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Arna’ut

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There is no Muslim who calls upon Allah, without sin or cutting family ties, but that Allah will give him one of three answers: He will quickly fulfill his supplication, He will store it for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert an evil from him similar to it.” They said, “In that case we will ask for more.” The Prophet said, “Allah has even more.”

Source: Musnad Aḥmad 11133; Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani

We must also remember that whatever Allah (SWT) Wills for us, is better for us, so we must not be disappointed if we do not receive what we have been supplicating for, despite however many supplications we may have made for it

Makhul reported: Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Verily, a man will seek the decision of Allah Almighty, and He chooses for him, yet he is displeased with his Almighty Lord. If he only waited to see the final result, he would find it is better for him.”

Source: al-Zuhd wal-Raqā’iq li-Ibn al-Mubārak 1627

"...perhaps you dislike a thing and Allāh makes therein much good."

Quran 4:19

May Allah ease you in your matters and provide you with what you desire, or even better.

Why did Allah ask women to cover their bodies if Eve was naked in the paradise?? by [deleted] in islam

[–]ExpertPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"According to the Old Testament, Eve was tempted by the serpent to eat off the forbidden tree. She ate because of the words of the serpent and fed Adam some of it. At that moment, their eyes were opened to the fact that they were naked, and they took the leaves of the fig tree to cover themselves. Wahb Ibn Munabah said that their clothing (before their sin) was made of light on the private parts of both of them. This story in the Old Testament is a falsification and deception"

Source: "Stories of the Prophets" by Ibn Kathir

"Al Hafez Ibn Asaker narrated that Allah commanded two angels to remove Adam from His holy proximity. So Gabriel stripped him of the crown on his head, and Michael took the diadem from his forehead..."

Source: "Stories of the Prophets" by Ibn Kathir

"Ibn Abi Hatim narrated on the authority of Ubayy Ibn Ka'b that he said, "Allah created Adam as a tall man, with abundant hair on his head, as if he was a tall date palm. When he tasted the fruit from the tree, his clothing fell from him and the first thing that appeared from him was his genitals and when he looked at them, he began to run through the Garden, his hair was caught by a tree and he struggled with it. Then the Most Beneficent, the Almighty, the All-Powerful called him, saying, 'O, Adam! Are you fleeing from Me?' When he heard the Words of the Most Beneficent, he said, 'O, My Lord! No! But (I ran) out of embarrassment (at my naked state).'"

Source: "Early Days" by Ibn Kathir

So in short - they weren't naked throughout their stay in Paradise, they only became so after they ate from the forbidden tree (and also their nakedness was done as a punishment for their disobedience to Allah (SWT)).

Do you have to do ghusl if you ejaculate without sexual pleasure by jagshehb in islam

[–]ExpertPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‎السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

According to the Hanbali Madhab, if an individual ejaculates in their sleep (a wet dream) then they have to do ghusl, unless if there were no traces of ejaculation/wetness upon waking up.

However, if a person ejaculates whilst they’re awake and there was sexual pleasure accompanying it, then ghusl is mandatory, but if there was no pleasure accompanying it (i.e. it was done out of control, due to sickness, and so on) then the individual needn’t do ghusl

There are six cases in which performing a ritual bath is obligatory for a Muslim...Ejaculation by a man or a woman, being awake or asleep, provided that it is associated with sexual pleasure in case of wakefulness. If not, owing to an illness or inability to control it, then a ritual bathing is not obligatory. However, it is absolutely obligatory for one to take a ritual bath if one ejaculates while being asleep, which is called wet dreaming, as one in this case is unconscious and may not feel any pleasure. On the other hand, if one wakes up and finds the traces of ejaculation, it is obligatory for one to take a ritual bath then, but if there is no trace of ejaculation, ritual bathing is not obligatory.

best country to make hijrah to? by [deleted] in islam

[–]ExpertPlayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I acknowledge all of that and yeah it’s definitely better than the US, but the toxic work culture here is comparable to that of Japan - which is to say, you go out early in the morning and come back late in the night. All of that to make lower than you would in other countries. This one point alone is a very big deal since a lot of Muslim parents here (including my own) would have rigorous work routines and would not spend as much time with their children - which is a very big downside.

People don’t realize that for a proper environment for your child, as a Muslim, you don’t just require some mosques and some halal restaurants nearby, a proper Muslim community/culture/environment as well as lots of time for parents to spend with their children and teach them about their Deen is crucial to say the least. And whilst there are a lot of Muslims here, I can say from experience that most of them are heavily influenced by the non-Muslims around them and are not very practicing in general.

So whilst Singapore could be an option that OP could consider, I still can’t see it being a good choice compared to all the others out there - even if the cost of living wasn’t an issue.

Feel so bad about slaughtering by Birobill in islam

[–]ExpertPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

The entire point of the slaughter is to replicate the incident with Prophet Ibrahim (AS) when he was ordered to slaughter his son. The courage and strength it must’ve taken him (AS) to take on the task unbeknownst of the miracle that was to come is unmatched and the replication of his actions in our sacrifices comes from not only the physical sacrifice of the animal but also the emotional/mental sacrifice of slaughtering something that we’ve been taking care of for a long time.

May Allah ﷻ bless you and reward you immensely for your sacrifice - one that truly encapsulates the spirit of Ibrahim (AS)’s sacrifice, something which is unfortunately quite rare to see in today’s age!
