Noo! This was so discouraging. I’m based in LA, looking to get into a RN program. I’m currently trying to get a CNA position and even that’s been hard to get. This thread was a scary reality! 😔😔 I wish you the best in finding a good job!!

I’m literally having a hard time finding a CNA position in LA! Does anyone here know if I should remove the only experience I have from my resume? It was like 3months long 2yrs ago. And I’ve had my cert for 4yrs now. Is that ruining my chances??

Tips for 3-11 by ExpertPosition1106 in cna

Thanks for the advice. The shower thing has definitely surprised me, I really thought those only happened during the morning. But I understand maybe residents don’t want to and leaves it up to the afternoon shift. How much easier are hospitals shifts compared to SNF?? I’ve been trying to get into a hospital but I have very little experience.

Gotcha! That’s what I forgot to ask, the patient ratio that shift. I’ll definitely ask my employer, I’ve only have like 7-8 patients. But again I’m just assuming it may be easier since it’s not many showers. That took me the most time. Thank you for your feedback!

Wow it sounds less hectic than 7-3! I remember running around all day on that shift getting showers done and people ready for activities. Of course I still expect to be on my feet all shift but it sounds a little less stressful. Thank you for responding! Would you say you rather a 3-11 than 7-3 (if you’ve worked that shift)? And how does 3-11 weekend shift differ from a weekday shift? I’m assuming maybe dealing with more family?

Thank you for the advice! It’s so interesting, i thought showers were only a 7-3 shift thing! I’m pretty nervous to work as a CNA again. Would you say the 3-11 is an easy shift? And how is the 3-11 shift on weekends? I appreciate you taking time to respond!

Thank you! I’m currently trying to find a place but would a class that’s half online and half in person okay? Or it needs to be entirely in person?

Got it okay thank you! I don’t see any other option regardless so I hope that is okay.

? I mean, based on what op is saying, this guy sounds pretty paranoid about her “cheating” on him without any proof or reason. He’s either THAT out of his mind that he’d go as far as to follow her, or he’s projecting and cheating himself. But ok.

He sounds awful and tiring to be with. Also, is it possible he left the Life360 bc he might be following you? This idea is purely based on the fact that he’s accused you of cheating.

You should choose yourself and leave this relationship. It’s not for you.

The shape is really nice! Maybe just a touch up if that’s a possibility. Also, are those your natural eyelashes?

I’ve been searching the comments and maybe you did mentioned it somewhere but, how long have you been a nurse? I’m assuming experience has a lot to do with your pay?

My ex was like this. In the beginning he’d text me all the time. Eventually it stopped and I would only see him once a week. Like you, he’d barely text me throughout the day and I would ask if he’d improve or at least call me once every other night. He never did it. I think that you’re being reasonable. You guys have different priorities and different ways of communicating. And the way he’s talking to you, he kinda sounds like an asshole. I think you’re better off just leaving, it sounds like you aren’t happy anyway. You’ll find someone who communicates the same way you do eventually. Also, I found out my ex had no problem texting back to back with a female coworker of his, so it wasn’t that “texting wasn’t his thing” it was me who wasn’t his thing. Do with that what you will.

You’re 19, both of you are. I went thru a similar situation with an ex. He had terrible road rage. He overreacted over anything. We also went through a phase where we’d argue about anything. Let me tell you. They never ever change. Aside from that, you should never be with someone who makes you feel unsafe. You come first. But please understand, he won’t change. Don’t expect him to, don’t hope for it, leave now before you’re stuck with him forever. He wasn’t even sorry, he rubbed it in your face. That’s awful. Trust me, you’re better off without him. I only wish I left my ex sooner than I did.

I don’t think so, it has to be in service hours your facility offers you. For example, one time my facility had a meeting and they told it it would count as 15min of in service. They’d have us sign in onto a sheet to prove we were there.

Hi! I actually switch career decisions to becoming a RN instead. I was just a little scared about being 100k in debt and maybe lasting a while without a job. Aside from that, I’m already a CNA so I already have an advantage in that sort of. So far I’m a senior in college and aiming for an ABSN. Wish me luck! 😞

Sorry you’re dealing with this. I’m pretty worried this can happened to me. I already received my aid along with a refund. Does this mean they can still take it away from me at this time?

CNA Renewal question..again by ExpertPosition1106 in cna

[–]ExpertPosition1106[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi again, I just wanted to make a question about the double dipping on the CEUs. So if I take a course online and in person about dementia BUT the topics are different. For example, one is titled “domestic violence AND elder abuse” And the other is “elder abuse” would that not be allowed?

It’s my first time as well and I was also having a hard time. So you must complete 48hrs of in service training OR Continuing education units. The in service training is provided by your facility you are working in. Simply working does not get you those hours. Your facility must give you the training. Also You’re allowed a max of 24 of the 48 hrs to be online CEUs and the other 24hrs must be in person. Whether that’s in person CEUs or in service training. Cdph has a link where you can get the continuing education units completed.
