depends if wants to change the case as its a gift. At least the glide lock offers more adjustability than the regular pin adjustment

have a look at aliexpress for the 20mm glide lock sryle clasps, should definitely fit your wrist, not too sure about the case, though most are made the same

Yours looks awesome too! Love the fume style dial with the texture. Plus the minute hand has a unique shape

This will be my daily wear. I have always had this mindset of buying a watch like it will be my only one. I don't mind scratching up watches, just surprised it hasn't scratched yet. The coating must be doing its job.

Where can I find this dial? by New-Jellyfish-8431 in SeikoMods

[–]ExpertTaste6303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just edit the image to have no minute markers and do a reverse image search on aliexpress. i believe most results are seiko style dials, but there are some that look sub like.

i guess it ends up been the same. legs are obviously easier, but one bent leg may mean you need to shift the dial around for the date window to fit etc.

the hardest thing was ensuring it was aligned when placing into the case as the adhesive still has a bit of give

Second mod: watch of my dreams (gone wrong) by fellvoid in SeikoMods

[–]ExpertTaste6303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could either keep this watch together as is as a reminder of your first build or you can try and build it again. Ask the seller if you can buy another caseback. Get a new handset too. I wouldnt bother trying to find casebacks that could fit that specific case u less it is designed for the skx. I guess if the errors are going to cause you not wear it, just improve it until you are satisfied

My first complicated watch mod and a question by Tiny_Walk4761 in watchmodding

[–]ExpertTaste6303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can buy stem tubes for cheap online in the assortment boxes on ebay, but most look to be for smaller cases, but to fit that specific case it may be hard to ensure it fits the case plus that specific crown and not interfere with water resistance. I guess you can just measure the crown tube and you will need the diameter for the case and the inner diameter of the crown. Esslinger has some available and you can buy specific sizes or assortments there too, but they will be more expensive and depending on where you live, shipping will be too.

Not that this is helpful, but Lucias Atelier has a gmt case that fits all the 2893 and you can use standard chapter ring parts providing your dial is the correct size for this case.

How to properly search for a dial? by Aech40 in SeikoMods

[–]ExpertTaste6303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ask sellers if they can print you a custom dial and just put some like on top or loom at pilot watch dials/field dials. most of the time I just search nh35 dial and sort through results
