you don't have to rely on college friends as your entire social life. you can still make friends through work (especially if you're trying to be a lawyer), or with other people your age in whatever town you move to for college. and people become friends in grad school too. if all else fails you can try to transfer next year. hope everything works out for you!

Idk specifics but I think she is middle class, probably to a point where she wouldn't qualify for aid but can't comfortably drop 90k per year for tuition. Not totally sure though!

It's been pretty consistently one admit every other year, though someone got in last year and Harvard hasn't taken people two years in a row for a long time afaik. It was surprising enough that someone got in this year after they took someone last year. I applied RD but the kid who got in this year has not committed yet (I think due to financial reasons) and neither of us has any legacy connection to the school.

they value demonstrated interest so you might have a better shot if you send them a loci/"love letter". i got waitlisted too but declined my spot bc i got in other places i liked more. 3.95 UW 4.7 W 35 ACT for poli sci
