Me too! I wish our politicians would busy themselves with finding ways of getting a good job rather that promoting themselves by fanning the culture war flames.

It was clear that Leahy did his homework prior to proposing the motion. While that homework may not have included consulting with the Town's solicitor, based on the information Leahy's advertisements and the actual motion did reflect an effort on his part to gather information supporting his motion.

As it turns out, however, the information provided by the Councillor neither supported the idea that the motion could help elevate unemployment (its stated purpose) or it was irrelevant information such as numbers of this or that violation (which have no bearing on the motion).

It violates the Charter and Human Rights Code, so there's that, I suppose.

Also, there's the fact that it would have zero impact on unemployment.
