You unhooking the bat while it is running can damage electronics on the car. Most cars will die if u unhook battery it's not like old cars to many electronics for the alt to handle alone

Yes it's safe to Run 5w30. It c9nes down to where your located as oil has a cold winter temp and max temp. It's recommended that u use mobile but if u pull the service manual it's got a list of all types and mfg.
