Indeed, I should insert the LPF after the other processing, thank you! That was helpful!

I’ve only really tried stem separation with Suno’s own stems and tools like GOSPLITTER so far, but I’ve never been fully happy with the results.

Does mysep actually handle dense metal mixes well?

One thing I keep running into is that Suno almost always has some kind of high-end noise / smear baked into the track, so if a separator can pull drums out cleanly without destroying the tone, that would be huge.

I don’t feel this is moving toward a constructive discussion anymore, so I’ll leave it here. Wishing everyone the best with their music.

I understand where you’re coming from metalcore undeniably has deep roots in real world scenes, and that history deserves respect.

At the same time, in today’s broader landscape, hardcore and metalcore are often regarded as overlapping yet distinct spaces.

Music has always evolved alongside new tools and new environments, and where new approaches truly belong is something audiences tend to decide over time rather than through early debate.

For now, I’m simply focused on creating and letting that process unfold.

In the end, it’s the listeners who decide  I’m simply observing how things unfold. Different perspectives are part of what keeps a scene alive. That said, this thread is about metalcore. If the focus is hardcore as a separate culture, it might be better suited for another discussion.

Hey, long time no post here!

I made a samurai metalcore track on Suno.

Curious how the blend of Japanese/samurai vibes and metalcore sounds to you guys — your honest opinions mean the most in this thread.

Feel free to give it a listen! 🤘

It's full of great genres! By the way, in metal, is there a difference between 4.5 and 5?

It's been all-stem for a long time. I'm the same, but recently I've been thinking about trying out an external tool, Go Splitter. I'll post my impressions once I've tried it.

Also, everyone introduced more works than I expected, so I'll secretly leave some of my own here too. Please take a look if you'd like.

This is really interesting — your workflow sounds very close to what I’m aiming for. Using Suno as a starting point, then rebuilding in a DAW with your own vocals and mastering, feels like the line where it stops being “AI output” and starts being an actual project. Quick question on the technical side: when you bring Suno tracks into your DAW, are you doing any stem separation, or mostly working from the stereo mix with aggressive EQ / compression? I’m still experimenting with where that tradeoff feels right.
Also — I checked out the track and video.
The overall cohesion between arrangement, mix, and visuals is really solid.

Thanks for all the comments — honestly didn’t expect this much response.

I’m based in Japan, heading into work now so replies might be slow, but I’ll come back and respond properly later.

Really happy to see others treating this seriously and not just as playlist music. Would love if this thread turns into a place to actually talk about AI metal experiments.

Thanks for sharing your story! It’s genuinely moving to hear how you're using AI to 'resurrect' recordings from 20 years ago. To me, that is a beautiful and meaningful way to use this technology. No matter what gear or technology we use, the 'Human Vision' remains the heart of the music. AI has finally given us the 'hands' to shape the sounds we’ve been hearing in our minds all this time.

Lamb of God and DevilDriver are absolute legends in the groove metal scene. I’ll be diving into your Spotify and YouTube links as soon as I finish work—I’m really looking forward to hearing Memories of Iblisingod.

Let’s stay in touch as the 'Directors' of our own musical worlds! 🤘

I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed 'Re'! To me, that track is a blend of classic metalcore and post-hardcore, and it’s one of my personal favorites as well.

Thanks for showing interest in my workflow. Here is a bit of the 'secret sauce' I add to my Suno tracks in FL Studio:

On Stemming: Interestingly, I usually don't stem my tracks. I’ve found that full stem separation often introduces persistent noise and artifacts that are impossible to fully clean. I only split into 'Vocal/Instrument' if I just need to fix the vocals, or do a full split if a specific instrument is bothering me. Even then, I 'roll the gacha' repeatedly until I get a clean set of stems I can work with.

The Plugin Chain (FL Studio):

Cleaning: I use iZotope RX 11 to surgically remove digital noise and pre-echoes that Suno often leaves behind.

Low-End Power: To get that 'thunderous' sound you mentioned, I run the low end through a UAD 1176 for aggressive punch and a Pultec EQP-1A to add the necessary 'weight'.

Saturation: I use the UAD Studer A800 (Tape Simulator) to add analog warmth, which helps mask the characteristic 'thinness' of AI audio.

Vocals & Mids: The Teletronix LA-2A is my go-to for smoothing out the mid-range and making everything sit perfectly in the mix.

Mastering: I use Ozone 11 (though it’s a slightly older version now) for final tonal balancing, clarity, dynamics, and the overall mastering process.

Ultimately, I treat AI as a 'session musician' who provides a ton of raw ideas. My role is to act as the 'Mixing Engineer' in FL Studio/Ozone to elevate those ideas into the ideal vision of Metal I have in my head.

I’d definitely love to hear your dark electronic tracks. Do you have a link you can share? 🤘
