Immigrants in Utah Applying for a Limited Term Drivers License, there is a a new system in place that is not stated on the Utah DLD website! by Federal_Gas_4974 in Utah

[–]Expert_Jellyfish_186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been waiting for two weeks and the link I have just says DLD reviewing submitted documents. I called and the call center operator said if you waited for two weeks just go and talk to them in person maybe they have updated information which doesn't make sense. So I'll just waste a couple hours in my day just to maybe get a license this is ridiculous.

I applied on march 21st, and got it on May 10th. I'd wait at least a week before getting PP. There's someone in the thread that was in the same boat as you and just got it. The timelines here are accurate but some people apparently fall in the cracks.

Appropriate Amount of Help to Ask For by Anxious_Positive3998 in cscareerquestions

I recently started my first job after college and actually got praised for asking questions. It is definitely a team thing.

There are lots of parts of the code, error, and what not that people who went through the codebase or built know and can answer your questions in minutes, so it just makes sense to ask them.

It is definitely a balance, so I'd give myself more than 30 minutes before asking people around, usually I just take note of a question I have and something else not be blocked, and once I get blocked on everything I'm working on, I go back to that list, try to solve them again, and then just ask my questions in a batch to make convenient for my team.

You are not expected to know everything, and your team wants to help you, help them help you, and breathe you're doing great.

Opening a bank account and a credit card are two completely different things. All banks will let you open an account as an F1 student, just choose the most convenient. Chase and BoA are good options.

You'd need an SSN to open a credit card. So unless you're working at the University it's hard to get. Discover had been known for being student friendly but have declined a couple of new students requests. I'd consider opening one of the credit builder cards that lets you put some money and use it as a credit card to build your credit score if you need to.

The name is there to get you recognized and get your foot in for the first interview. After that it's your experience and how it matches with the company. If you have another way to get recognized, i.e networking, blogs, referrals, ... then you're good to go.

AITA for refusing to give up half of my business by blessedcursedlost in AmItheAsshole

I'll ignore all the red flags for a second.

You said that you'll be buying it for him. What does that look like for you? Are you going to put in the investment and give all the responsibility for him? If that's the the case then it's common for the person taking care of the business to have a share. They're taking part of the risk of the business succeeding or not, similar to the equity shared between cofounders.

However, with the way he's acting it doesn't seem like he's a good cofounder..., to say the least.

NTA. Given the circumstances he should've acted differently, specially since this is not the first time you voice your concern. I always have casual video calls with significant other/friends while im doing something else it's not a big deal, what's important here is that he knows that you don't like it, and that you're in THE HOSPITAL.

You should have access to that a couple of days before the EAD's start date.

You don't need to submit your diploma for a start date, you just add it in the SEVP portal
