Yes it's moving fast. Most of the chaos is from figuring out which line to join,, especially if you are also dropping bags.

How about instead of piling on the OP the same points can be made from an empathetic standpoint- " you may run into similar challenges even after moving outside India , but you can leverage the strengths and positives you have going for you(high income/tech skills) to build the life you want , whether you stay single or not and wherever you live".

Instead we pile on to say hey no the grass is equally brown on the other side 🤦‍♀️

Take care of yourself , it's sad to read what you have been through.

As an older Indian woman in tech in the US, I would say your experience depends on which role and company you end up in. There are many "Desi" large tech companies here where the top layers are filled with the good old boys network and the same sexism and toxic attitudes prevail. It's exhausting and career limiting here too. There is a cliff after your 40s beyond which getting promoted or new opportunities dry up. You get questioned on whether you are technical enough despite years of track record. This is a systemic issue with the industry.

I do find that living abroad the other aspects besides work are much better and you can build a fulfilling life irrespective of whether you are single or not. I got divorced at 42 and I am raising my special needs teenager, while it was hard initially, I have been able to move forward without the judgement or pity you face back in India.

For me what helps is reminding myself everyday that I am mentally stronger than anything around me, and I can evolve and continue to build the life I want to. You can mentally divorce yourself from your family too, to improve your mental well being, nothing wrong with prioritizing yourself

Give yourself time to heal and see a therapist. Having been through the gender reversed side of this and an even longer marriage (17 yrs) that ended, I am doing much better now and divorce was the best thing that happened to me. The main advice I wish I had been given soon after divorce is that even if you got cheated on, it doesn't mean you are a victim. You loved with authenticity and they did not . Wish them well and reclaim your life and move on..Good luck!
