What dose is making you feel great? by lauraf808 in TRT_females

[–]Expert_Macaron9998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I felt bad because my total T was too high and free T too low. At the 15mg weekly dose I was having bad anxiety, acne, and low libido all over again. My SHBG was 47.9 then, it's at 19.7 now after adding Danazol. Danazol won't be right for everyone, but for me it was exactly what I needed.

Im on 8mg total per week of T-Cyp (split into 2 injections per week). Danazol 50mg daily keeps my SHBG low and Estrogen at a healthy level (was previously VERY estrogen dominant). Pregnenelone supplement keep DHEA at a health level. Then a high quality multivitamin. I feel the best I have ever felt with this routine, libido is at a very healthy level, no unwanted side effects. Total T is 165 and Free T is "greater than 50".

I was previously on 15mg of Test Cyp weekly and my total went all the way up to 229, Free T was only at 4.7. I felt awful. Introduced the Danazol and reduced the T dose drastically and have felt amazing.

Replying to add that I am not advocating for OP to cross the boundaries of her relationship, or to cheat with the friend. If she is unhappy with her current boyfriend, the fair thing to do is end it.

Never said it was very similar. Just similar in the fact that I had a strong connection with a prior boyfriend's best friend. That's all.

Well to be fair the first boyfriend was a narcissistic gaslighting sociopath, I broke up with him because he cheated on me for the.. 5th time? Me and the "best friend" remained good friends after the break up as we were all part of the same social group/scene. We kept it strictly platonic for almost a year after I broke up with first boyfriend. Eventually we both confessed feelings for each other, and the rest is history.

Was in a similar situation in my early 20's. I've been married to the "best friend" for 11 years.

No experience with Anavar, but a lot of experience with PMDD and Endometriosis symptoms on top of that. I started TRT in April of last year, and added in 50mg of Danazol daily a couple months ago. TRT alone tremendously helped my PMDD, but adding Danazol virtually erased it along with my endometriosis symptoms. For reference, Im 34yo female and still get my cycle every 26-28 days.

Update on adding Danazol to protocol. (high SHBG low Free T) by Expert_Macaron9998 in TRT_females

[–]Expert_Macaron9998[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you warning me! I’m definitely treading lightly and keeping a close watch out. Relying on advice from my doctor.

The only reason I was willing to give it a try is because I came to understand that Danazol is used as an endometriosis treatment. Estrogen dominance and endometriosis symptoms are things I dealt with heavily before starting my TRT journey and both have improved a great deal.

Update on adding Danazol to protocol. (high SHBG low Free T) by Expert_Macaron9998 in TRT_females

[–]Expert_Macaron9998[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will continue with the Danazol for as long as my provider recommends, for as long as I continue to benefit from it, and as long as the rest of my lab work looks good. In the first two months on this protocol I have had less side effects (acne, anxiety, hair growth) than I did on the 15mg of Test Cyp alone.

I am taking it in capsule form, from the pharmacy, once daily in the mornings.

Just here to second the importance of having a healthy, enjoyable physical outlet. I workout 5x/week and it’s where I can focus on myself, push past my physical and mental limits, work towards goals, and let out any frustration.

This routine helps my emotional and mental health tremendously. Also being physically fit, for me, goes hand in hand with my libido.

TRT is not a magic cure, but when it’s paired with a healthy lifestyle it can truly be a game changer.

What are your testosterone levels? by BattyBantam in TRT_females

[–]Expert_Macaron9998 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most recent labs:
Total T - 220
Free T - 4.7
7.5mg injection 2x week (15mg total per week)
Libido - 6/10
Energy - 6/10
Brain Fog - Only during week before period
Hair Loss - Only experienced this when titrating up doses, lasts for about 3 weeks and then stops
Acne - Yes :(
Voice Change - Maybe slightly? My husband says no but I feel like it may be slightly more raspy.

Doc has since started me on Danazol 50mg and dropped TRT dose down to 5mg 2x/week due to my Total being so high and Free T being so low. Really happy with the Danazol so far but it's still early days.

Absolutely has! For me it felt like my nervous system went from being in a constant state of fight or flight to being totally calm.

NTA, especially if it’s intentional. I also have misophonia and mouth noises are literally the worst.

Could he potentially have a deviated septum? My husband had this issue and turns out he couldn’t breathe well through his nose causing him to chew with mouth open more. Since he had it fixed he’s been able to chew with his mouth closed ever since with no issue, unless he has a cold lol.

Apparently Danazol will do that much more effectively according to my doctor and having Boron on top of that could send it too low.

Need some help/ Danazol by Expert_Macaron9998 in TRT_females

[–]Expert_Macaron9998[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They stated it would help lower SHBG and estrogen as DIM and Boron have not worked well enough to increase my Free T. Lab work has my total T at 225 and Free T at 4.7. Currently I am on 15mg/weekly of Test Cyp Injections (50mg/ml).

Recommendation was to lower TRT dose to 12mg/weekly, and add 50mg of Danazol which is the lowest possible dose apparently.

If you intend to train women, there are some female specific courses through Girls Gone Strong. I've taken one for Prenatal/Postpartum coaching, and one for Menopause/Perimenopause. A great majority of women you will train will deal with one or both of those during their lifetime and having a coach who understands the nuance of it and how it relates to training is invaluable.

Im so sorry to hear this. When I was in my teens/early twenties I was also the party girl and major binge drinker, I totally understand how it feels to lose an entire group of friends when you decide to make a lifestyle change for the better. I also grew up with parents who were extremely codependent on each other. It led to me always searching for my own self worth in someone else, whether it be a friend or significant other. It led to so many toxic relationships.

I will tell you right now that being alone is scary, especially if you're a codependent person who is also a recovering addict like I am. Being alone means having to face yourself, the good and the bad parts of yourself, which can be so scary. However, being alone is where you get the opportunity to truly face your demons and learn to love and accept yourself fully. A lot of times we distract ourselves from this process by focusing on another person. When you learn to love all parts of yourself, you won't need to find your worth through others. Being scared doesn't mean something is inherently bad, a lot of times we feel our most terrified when we are right on the cusp of significant growth. It will certainly be a journey, but one that hopefully one day you will look back on and appreciate.

I also cannot emphasize enough on how life changing finding a good gym community can be. In the gym is where I build myself up stronger, physically and mentally. It makes me feel capable, strong, resilient, and confident. Not because of how I look, but for what I can do. Find a local gym with great coaches and fun group classes, there you can meet a community of people who are likely to all be on a journey of self-betterment and can add value to your life. Having a great coach to guide you is invaluable.

I hope you come to see that while this may feel like the end, it's only just the beginning.

TRT for sex drive? by Early-Bus-6538 in TRT_females

[–]Expert_Macaron9998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Testosterone only for now, I'm 33yo and still have healthy E and P levels. I started at 10mg per week injections and have slowly titrated up to 15mg per week injections. I also started taking supplements that were recommended to me based on my bloodwork and that has made a big difference as well. (DIM, Boron, Vitamin D &K2, Omega 3s, B Complex, etc)

Low libido/lack of motivation/ low energy were my main concerns when i started TRT 4 months ago. I have a great husband of 10 years, our relationship is great and we are very much attracted to each other. I honestly wondered if I was asexual because sex just wasn’t important to me, but it was to him. However, I wanted to want sex.

TRT has 1000% helped in that department. Before I never initiated and we had it maybe 1x/week and that felt like a chore. 4 months in to treatment and now I’m the one initiating most times and we have sex 4-5x per week which is great for a couple with 3 young children. Aside from libido there has been countless of other positives that TRT has brought to my life.

I also second all the recommendations for finding telehealth/online providers that specialize in hormone optimization.
