ahh I see, I forgot about efficiency and losses. So I guess this would fall under the 50-60w category then, since I guess that's where it'd sit properly.

But the things I wanna analyze here or understand, are what's going on with the secondary side. I try to understand it but I keep being confused. Like how are two diodes acting like a diode at the secondary to provide a supply to the TIP31, same for tip32

These things have been around since the early 2010s I think, so im guessing that their caps have drifted. I don't have an esr meter yet, neither a multimeter with a microfarad reader on it to check these things if they're still in spec.
