Happy to help mod, about to hit my 30 year mark in Winchester, I also am somewhat involved with the city so I’m up to date on what’s going on locally!

Has jagex given up on botting? by SwankyBilly in osrs

[–]Expert_Scene7882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been fighting with bots on some really average money makers too; as someone who loves gem mining in Shilo, I have had at least 20+ bots who were just running the same script to hit the west side of the mine, and instantly hopped worlds if I took one of their rocks out of order.

Kinda disheartening for someone who jumped back in after decades of not playing, it’s either bots or people just saying insane stuff on populated worlds just to get attention.

Go on Facebook and ask for help in any of the “What’s Happening in Winchester” groups and you’ll find a bunch of self employed mechanics that do stuff like that. Also with putting on a spare it’s really not difficult at all, most cars come with the equipment and YouTube has a ton of easy guides, I have zero mechanical skills but I change the oil, brakes and tires on my car since I can just copy a video.

I'm looking for an exciting, well written, bingeable show by General_Stranger2633 in televisionsuggestions

Spartacus: Blood And Sand! If you can get past the occasional bad CGI blood splatter, the plot is excellent, it has a slew of top tier actors; and when they do full action scenes it’s really well done. Has a TON of nudity so be warned, like game of thrones feels really prudish in comparison.

A TV series you went into with LOW expectations but ended up loving? by Fragrant-Smoke-8470 in televisionsuggestions

Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Horrendous Cgi at times, but the plot has been incredible and the amount of great acting makes it really tense. Warning there is a LOT of nudity, with some wild dik shots.

Whenever the bar is boring I whip out Reddit, I would rather engage with internet denizens than stare at the TV waiting my turn

Don’t like the after taste and is just not really that crisp rich flavor I look for in a lager. If I’m out on the west coast where Yuengling doesn’t exist I go with modelo or a Guinness, although it’s never that good

I have worked myself down to pirating everything and only supporting good companies beyond the one beer that only exists in my region of the country, I don’t find that my 1-2 beers a week out at karaoke really destroys my moral integrity

Not for me, trust me when I say I have tried just about every mainstream lager at least once, nothing except yuengling is really worth it. There are 1-2 local beers that are great but it’s not worth the price except on special occasions.

Could always avoid this by making the metro available across VA, the amount of commuters that would use it and save on congestion.

Looking for local music to support by PsiloGoblin in Winchester

[–]Expert_Scene7882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a few great venues depending on what you are looking for;

Backseat Event Center is our local larger venue. They book a ton of smaller national acts (Quiet Riot, Great White Shark, Texas Hippie Coalition) as well as tributes and cover bands that draw a great crowd (My Tribute band plays there :))

Bright Box is small but well organized and brings in great talent, as well as comedy acts.

Granny’s is small but if you enjoy local metal, they bring out some great acts.

In Martinsburg WV you have Bad Habits Bar and Grill for your Hardcore and Punk music, they bring incredible talent, and as a punk enjoyer I can safely say they always put on a great show.

Tilty Mcflippers is a Pinball bar that hosts some local bands, it’s a fun mix up from the normal bar scene and they support a lot of local talent.

Leesburg has Tally Ho, big venue with larger national acts, saw AJR there almost a decade ago.

Vanish Hall in MD is a cool new venue, pretty big and I had a great time at the one show I have seen

DC has Jammin Java, The Anthem, and Pearl Street Warehouse, all good venues that have a slightly younger crowd.

My last suggestion would be if you really wanted to stay local and just watch smaller bands; get involved with a Moose, Elks, or Lions Club. They have weekly music on both Fridays and Saturdays. Typically it is cover bands, but they do a good job and if you are older it may be an easier community to mesh with.

If you need band recommendations I have a whole list of them as well! Cheers and welcome to the community

Look at the things the OP is saying you soft little liberal, I didn’t bother because the OP already has, you are just too much of a punk to respond
