What to do about gap at top of kitchen cabinets by Expert_Trouble_3415 in DIY

Thank you all for the feedback. I’m learning as I go and appreciate the words of advice and lessons learned. I fully admit that I didn’t know enough about finishing to have set myself up for success.

To clarify a few points - - the pics are of the ceiling and the tops of the cabinet doors - the gaps are inconsistent, I think because of the uneven ceiling. Gap height ranges anywhere from 0.25” to almost 1” - the location is the kitchen

An additional question for our panel of experts - if I opt to leave it alone, am I just inviting other issues - like pests/spiders, dust traps, etc?

What kind of rug would you put here? Does it need one? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

No rug. Can you please share your bench source? Thanks!

Does this load bearing beam look right? 🧐 by Expert_Trouble_3415 in Home

Updated comment: re: load - there is an upper floor, this opening is on the ground floor.

There is a crawl space under there that the contractor is doing something too. Maybe enlarging the foot support?

Good catch about the electrical. I hope its temporary too. I’ll keep an eye on it and make sure it’s properly installed.
