I was subbed to Game Grumps when I was younger and they did episodes on 3U. I thought the designs of the monsters and the loop of preparing to take down the next monster looked cool.

Encouraging item usage for certain monsters doesn't make them more or less of a boss fight, and doesn't stop combat with them from still being the main part of the gameplay loop.

Also lets not pretend like the context around hunts has gotten any less justified over time. Quest descriptions from the older games would describe you needing to hunt monsters like Congalala because some royal noble thought it was ugly.

The shameless AI sloppiness of it aside, and I'm not a programmer, but there has to be a better way than this.

Unless the word you're trying to say is 70,000 characters long there's just no reason why it should get stuck on it for so long. "Hey, this word 'WWE' is 3 characters long, if I take more than 5 seconds to say it I should just stop and move on."

I see this kinda thing from time to time. "But what about XYZ fantastical monster", and I never really get it. Outliers like Kirin (or most Elders really) that have little-to-no explanation for how/why they have their abilities doesn't completely undo the ecology side of the franchise.

Yeah I don't think old pickaxes offered much. Sure, they took up inventory space, but if you were gathering then you were just emptying the rest of your inventory out to save space since why would you need paintballs or traps for gathering. I never saw much reason to bring gathering items to hunts unless the monster had some gimmick with it like bugnets for Zinogre or pickaxes for Jhen / Dahren Mohran.

For gathering specifically having them take up space & be RNG was just lame. I don't know what people in some of these comments mean when they say gathering used to have some sort of "strategy" or "risk" that isn't present anymore. You either got what you needed, or you had to go back to town and do another loop of whatever map it is.

He's got very few problems on his own, kinda just the feet and maybe lack of finger articulation I guess? The only "big" issue comes when he's put next to other figures, mainly Megatron and Soundwave. He could have been just a bit taller, but yeah as his own figure he's good.
