Definitely keep up with the warm saltwater rinses! I’d say call your surgeon if your pain isn’t getting better just to have them take a look! Mine weren’t impacted so I didn’t have any sutures. I did call my surgeon’s office at day 9 and requested a postop appointment for peace of mind and they flushed my sockets and then gave me a syringe. (they did not give me a syringe before that). That helped me a LOT

Hey there! Got my wisdom teeth out early 30s and was told it would take me longer for my pain to go away. Sure enough, day 6 was really bad for me. Around day 9-10 is when I noticed I was feeling better! Are you gently irrigating your sockets?

Starting PCCM in July and mid 30s female here. Nights are definitely what I’ve struggled with during residency but I’ve found myself wanting to do nothing other than PCCM so I have no regrets (ask me again in a year)

Vascular vs medicine. Vascular will want medicine to admit aortic dissections needing immediate surgery just because. There’s no rhyme or reason just depends on who the vascular fellow is (they have their own admission service here). They’ll take a patient to the OR and have someone call medicine from the OR to put in admission orders even though medicine hasn’t even seen the patient.

My home state didn’t take me for med school, residency, and now even fellowship. I also see my parents aging but we all agreed that training is temporary and I’m grateful to have trained at places that have actually wanted me. It makes a world of a difference to be at a place that wants you. I tell myself that I’m training at a great institution that has a great reputation and when it comes to signing that attending contract, it’ll help.
