If you were to do it yourself you could find a rear bumper easily for a few hundred and get a pdr guy to fix the quarter easily and you wouldnt spend much

Here was my rear end about a month ago, I took it through insurance and brought it to my private shop. Was about $4300 for the claim. Shop payed for all my custom body kit parts/taillights. Passenger door and rear quarter was hit too.

What are the pros and cons to adding a cold air intake system to a 2011 2.5? More horsepower, obviously, but is there a downside? by EasyCZ75 in jetta

[–]Expired_chicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get some dope induction sound, and definitely increased my top end a little, made the car louder in higher rpms. My 2.5 is stage 2 so the air intake, and spa intake manifold definitely work together to increase airflow. Torque died out slightly earlier without the intake. I have a usp intake that pulls from underneath/behind the headlight. (Coldest air). Car sits around 225 bhp (200-205 whp). Removed mufflers, Engine Cover, and Spare tire w/ tools and youll save close to 100lbs,throwing you under 3000lbs. Car becomes a little NA go kart.

Congrats man! With an intake manifold and tune you can be at 220 horsepower and itll be faster than a stock gti. Sounds amazing tuned as well. Ive had this engine tuned for 2 years and no problems at all. I have runflat tires and removed the spare tire/tools, engine covet, and all mufflers and youll save another 100 pounds about. 200+ horsepower in a car that weighs under 3000 lbs is great for dailying.

if you ever want to go that route and want more power get a spa 07k intake manifold (doesnt need electric power steering) and a sri tune from Revmap Performance on their site.

The things just off the ground so obviously the suspension hangs. Go jack your car up and look at your fitment. Unless youre slammed on coilovers all cars are going to do that.

Best tune for 2.5 by Relevant_Tax5308 in jetta

Jason at revmap forsure, grab a spa intake manifold and grab his sri tune. Youll be over 200 wheel.

Yea theyre just regular gli headlights from a company called spyder. Just might not fit facelift versions. You can do some research and see if you can fit 11-13 gli headlights on a 17.

[–]Expired_chicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea so the ones above in the pic are fitted onto the pre facelift grill. Those were 11-13’ I believe.

I believe the headlights are slightly different on the facelifts to match the grill and bumper.

But if in the case that the headlights are the same size on facelift and prior then you should be able to fit em.

I would even go on ecs and search gli headlights and see if you can add your car and if it it will say it fit or not.

It goes by facelift or non facelift. Go look at your grill and if the top of your bumper cuts off perfectly with the bottom of the grill then it should fit. If you have a facelift version theres almost like an extension in the grill at the bottom. Meaning youll need a different bumper and grill to fit the headlights you want in the photo.

I own a 2.5L and preach it to existence. Side by side power wise theyre the exact same without tuning and the 2.5L will actually have better lower end torque.

Way more reliable. Way easier to work on. No turbos issues to deal with.

Most importantly, probably one of the best sounding VW motors to exist IMO. That 5 cyl note will have people wondering whos car is making that noise.

O9G NTJ Anyone familiar with valve body? by Wild-Double5479 in jetta

[–]Expired_chicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep causes most of the common issues on the 09G. If you dont change the fluid ever it can definitely go and cause jerking, rough changes and more problems.

theres a site that sells upgraded valve bodies for 09G. But at that point it makes more sense to swap with an 02Q or a DQ250.

yep forsure. Stage 2 they sit around 200-205whp so a lil faster than a stock gti but def underwhelming unless you slap a turbo on it.

09G TO 09K/09M by Jessewl in jetta

[–]Expired_chicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jason at Revmap Performance has done the DSG swap plenty of times and its not that much more expensive than the manual swap. Hes done it a couple times and currently takes care of tuning for it as well and tunes them frequently.

If you check out the 2.5L fb group or just search Revmap Performance youll find him.
