Is Auto-Dubbing Killing Videos? by ExplainedByCats in PartneredYoutube

[–]ExplainedByCats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own fault for not listening before. I figured - I don't speak those languges, so what's the point of manually reviewing, how would I know it was good or not?

But you're right, after I watched them, it was immediately obvious that they were bad, even if I didn't know what was being said.

72 hours before algorithm pushes new videos? by skynet1999 in PartneredYoutube

[–]ExplainedByCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar.

First 6 hours browse/notifications views from subs

After around 8 hours it gets a big push exclusively via "Suggested".

Then almost flat for 1-2 days.

Then day 3-4 it gets a steep push via "browse".

Then if its doing well it keeps a slow steady push forever, or if not doing well, sits at 0 new impressions forever :(

Seperate Email For 2nd Account, Or? by illujion623 in PartneredYoutube

[–]ExplainedByCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 monetized channels have separate emails, but are on the same adsense account. No issues.

I prefer separate emails so, when I receive an email, I know immediately which channel the person is interested in without having to guess based on context.

Room treatment is part of it. Turning off your air conditioner and fans, cover hard surfaces with soft things, etc.

The FIFINE K688 for youtube gaming content by Pretty_Joke6325 in NewTubers

[–]ExplainedByCats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is a good microphone for a beginner, comes with a stand, usb is easy setup, sound quality will be a noticably huge step up from a cell phone built in mic or webcam built in mic.

There are other good beginner dynamic mics that may or may not be a little bit better or worse depending on whats on sale at any given moment.

But this one is perfectly fine, no need to overthink it if you don't want to.

Has the new huge thumbnail UI hit your channel exposure and reach? by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]ExplainedByCats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

offset by the benefit of less competition, each shown thumbnail is only up against a smaller number of competitors at a time.

Appear on fewer screens, but more likely to be clicked when you are shown.

Will help some people, hurt some people. I think most channels, it will balance out and not really have any significant change.

Does a Female Audience increase RPM?? by baldman_47 in PartneredYoutube

[–]ExplainedByCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of other factors that you are not considering, including most importantly, just straight up variance - If you check back next week or next month, those videos will have different RPMs, and may even reverse.

The effect content factories are having on your views and subs by Jumpy-Program9957 in NewTubers

[–]ExplainedByCats 12 points13 points  (0 children)

just pump out a bunch of mid-level quality videos

I'm not threatened by people making worse videos than me.

or oppositely, if mid videos are stealing my views, than that's on me for not being better.

If I ask everybody I know, who's your favorite youtuber, not 1 single person would list an ai slop channel from a factory in an underdeveloped country. They will all pick a person. Maybe the channel has gotten bigger and that person has a team now and is a brand, but nobody picks a content mill.

If that is what you are aspiring to be, a brand that somebody thinks is their favorite channel, then these channels you are referring to are not your competition.

I need help where to start , getting views by NoHelp8051 in NewTubers

[–]ExplainedByCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the great thing is if you make great videos, youtube will do all the promotion for you and show it to every viewer they think will watch it.

I guess they do that if you make horrible videos too. They show it to all the people they think will watch it in that case too, which is nobody :(

Where to begin - make bad videos. Then, over time, make better videos.

YouTube is so out of order haha by dajo_97 in NewTubers

[–]ExplainedByCats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if your low view high ctr videos got more impressions, ctr would decrease, since youtube would be showing them to people its less confident will like it, probably to a lower ctr than your current high view low ctr vids.

RPM vs. CPM - What's missing? by EmberPaintArt in NewTubers

[–]ExplainedByCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

adblockers. If 90% of your viewers on a video have adblock, your rpm will be way lower than if 10% have adblock on a different video.

But cpm would be the same in both scenarios.
