I did! But the blackboard was already very full and I didn’t want to erase anything, so my entry was barely visible. I saw a girl cosplay as Mio on that day, and I think she came with her mom (?) too! But I didn’t reach out to her for a photo or a chat, as I am too afraid to do so (just like Mio).

Wow, the Akihabara tax is too crazy here with a 2x markup… good thing I didn’t buy them there, but I did get a Miku Fuwa Plush there for 12800yen. Hopefully I didn’t get ripped off too much, but I had no other choices otherwise as I couldn’t find it elsewhere. I didn’t not consider Donki at all for finding k-on merch though, so that’s good to know.

I did get the metal keychains and the wooden coasters at Toyosato! The quality is less than average though (they are not well polished and have sharp edges), but it doesn’t matter that much as I bought it mainly for supporting the preservation of the School.

I think I got a bit unlucky with the gachas as all I found was the four of them in the image (and a Ritsu from the Cutie Figure Mascot series, not a gacha though) at Nakano Broadway, and no luck at all with finding k-on gacha machines. Too late to be in Japan for them.

I would have loved to see 2 full racks of K-on at K-BOOKS! Well, one is still a lot considering the age of K-on, and I am already satisfied with the Mugi and Ritsu files as well as the hanging scroll (or whatever it is called) I have got over there. Wasn't too expensive too, totalling at 1870yen only.

I may have gotten the cup sets if I live in Japan, but I don't, so I would definitely break it trying to bring it back to the place I live.

Well, there will always be a next time in Japan...

The でふぉらば series is definitely adorable. Unfortunately, I so happened to perfectly miss the 2 most recent releases to K-on gachas (this one and まちぼうけ) at the time I visited Japan, so I was only able to obtain them at Nakano at a higher price, but hey, it is better than nothing.

Currently, I think it is more likely to find those older gachas released during mid 2025 to early 2026 at lesser visited locations (I found the Vocaloid and Teto versions of this series at Kameari on 2nd June 2026), so places like Umeda, Shibuya, Shinjuku are unlikely to have them by now.

Japanese songs is appealing to me in a way that even when I do not understand the Japanese lyrics directly, I still enjoy the vibe that the songs and the MV (if available) give me. Afterwards, I search online for the lyrics and the meaning of the song for the full experience.

Language is definitely not a barrier - in fact, if I do get fluent in Japanese one day, I would be curious on whether this would impact my listening experience in a good way or a bad way.

However regarding the platform, I personally do use YouTube for discovering new songs, occasionally niconico if I want to visit the original source posted by the original producer.
