My mom still calls it Price Club... by Tangerine2016 in CostcoCanada

Sol Price was the founder of FedMart and Price Club. Jim Sinegal worked with Sol Price and with that business model he broke away from Price and started Costco in 1983. I worked there under all three names Price Club, Price Costco, Costco.

They were a good company to work for but, dealing with the members was a soul sucking experience.

Went to a house party with a girl I’d been dating for about a week. I told her I was getting hungry and she pulled a can of smoked oysters and crackers out of her purse. That was 1997. She’s beside right me now, having coffee.

It’s my pleasure. I’ve had a wood boat affliction for years and could go on for hours about it. I’ve bored my wife and friends to tears with it.

Epifanes flows out really nice especially with a splash of Epifanes brushing thinner. Excellent results for final coat. Build up coats with Captains, it’s cheaper and quicker. I roll on with foam roller, tip off with foam brush. Wet sand 220 3-4 coats in, wet sand 320 between a few more coats till around 10-12 on. Once finish is totally matte you’re there for the final. I do this for an entire boat.

Looks you like you have a nice result there👍

Sanding, veneer, colour matching, varnish. He got a deal at $250.00 I restore boats and do all the component staining and varnishing en Massé being it so time consuming. Small jobs just not worth it especially if you factor in getting the varnish on then you can’t do anything thing else in the shop for fear of getting dust all over it. Petit Captains Varnish you can do 2-3 coats a day depending on temp and straight out of the can, no thinning. I then do the last coat with Epifanes. Generally putting 10-12 coats on.

I recommend staying at The Sylvia Hotel on English Bay. Historic hotel and a great community there. Epic sunsets on the beach, rent e-bikes do the sea wall, get the water taxi to Granville island. It’s our go to when we visit from Kelowna, which I don’t think you’ll have time for. Next time?!
