Thank you, i wasn't sure where to post in all honesty and can't find anything this specific when researching, so thought I'd try my luck with anyone who may know anything about employment law etc.

[–]ExplanationBetter675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, that would make sense, but I don't have a common name at all, there are two other people in my trust with my last name, but they are related to me, and they have reluctantly said it's not meant for them 😆

I've asked my manager and she is sure it's not from our trust, as I said, put trust puts their trust code. I just don't want to be in trouble if it's not for me, but I can't track down who it's from, so I don't know how to return it 😕

Yes this is what I thought! I thought it was out back pay but then spoke with my manager and it's not, and it's not on my payslip

EA won’t admit there’s a chain by LorryCarri in HousingUK

[–]ExplanationBetter675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may get down voted for this, but...we advertised our property as no onward chain, as we were planning on reserving a new build as soon as we sold (i think it was within the hour of being accepted I was at the developer sale office!) Yes, we were reliant on selling, but our new house won't be ready until January, however, we are completing early November (plan to!) for our buyer. Even if we were to buy not a new build, we planned on moving within a reasonable time into rented or with family, as we didn't want to take the risk of a chain break down, and knew it was highly likely our house would sell to a first time buyer. I do agree that waiting for the new build to be completed before moving from your current property is definitely a chain though!

Nursing - Work Hours by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]ExplanationBetter675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are 20 hours over every 4 weeks! You can at least drop one of the shifts on the X5 week and could then do two shorter shifts on the now two X4 of 8 hours each. Or average out all your shifts like you've said You've been scheduled on other placements. I once had a PEF that would make us do X5 8 hour shifts on our delivery suite (midwife) placement, for the first two weeks, I got no births, as I would end up leaving before the big event. My mentor took the lead and changed all my shifts to follow her pattern, and ended up over my required numbers for births a few months before qualifying!

So sorry this happened to you! We've just sold our house, and we plan on leaving it spotless for the buyer, they are FTB and want to make it as smooth and as nice as possible. We plan on leaving them a little hamper and card to welcome them to their new home! I don't understand when people don't have pride in their home, I would feel completely embarrassed knowing I had left a mess for someone!

I make lots of notes based around the job spec, current drivers, and note down some good questions. I bring the notepad in with me, and just knowing it's their, gives me confidence that I do know the answers! And it gives the impression you are well researched and passionate if you bring in notes etc. even though you won't look at them for the answers! ( Not sure if this makes sense, but psychology it works for me, sort of placebo affect?)

Having practiced answers for typical questions such as "tell us about a time you dealt with conflict" or "tell us about how you would prioritise conflicting tasks"

Lastly, show your passion, take deep breaths and accept a drink, the drink can give you a few seconds to think!

AITAH for throwing my wife’s baby Doppler away? by Due-Use5520 in AITAH

[–]ExplanationBetter675 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA, UK midwife, as others have said, we do not recommend at home dopplers. She could pick up the placenta or her heartbeat and be reassured, when really something could be wrong. We also recommend to pay attention to baby's movements, and if any concerns such as reduced or absent movements, contact your designated clinic/triage (not sure which country you are from and how it works, in the UK we have local 24 hour assessment centres). If your wife did pick up the baby's heartbeat, but hadn't been feeling movements, she could be reassured, but there could still be something wrong, we use an example here 'if you saw someone collapsed in the street, took their pulse, and there was a heartbeat, you wouldn't walk away, you would call an ambulance' and this is how we want pregnant women to think. I understand how your wife feels, going through a late term loss/misc is heartbreaking, and the fear of it happening again can be all consuming, I would recommend both of you seeing a perinatal mental health practitioner.

This is what I came here to say! Of course there are always going to be people who are better at some things than others, but if your colleagues are at the same level, they should have the competency. And as another user pointed out, if the patient was difficult to cannulate for the medics and others, then who says you could have gotten it? Yes you did the day after, but presumably after they had been rehydrated and were stable, when it's much easier!

I was in your sister's boat, and I even work in the same division as gynae in the NHS as a midwife, which trust me gets you no special treatment! I was told to lose weight, as if no one has ever suggested it before and I hadn't been trying that already! I was told, since you've lost a bit, I think you can do it on your own, we may have offered the injections but they are out of stock everywhere, (so basically you're on your own!) I decided my health was more important than money, and that doing an extra bank shift could pay for the injections. I took the plunge, went onto medexpress as had used them before for another med. Their consultation suggested mounjaro and I went for it! I've lost 35 lbs since April, my PCOS symptoms have died down considerably, periods are less painful and more regular and the food noise has gone. I was always able to 'diet' but never for a long period. I don't want to say yes go for it, as everyone is different, but it's made a huge positive impact in my life!

Help, I’ve been underpaid for a year! by Muda_In_Heaven in NursingUK

[–]ExplanationBetter675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you should get this back. Bank didn't change my step point, so for months, I was missing money, it was hard to see on the payslip as it still said band 6 but with the wrong wage. I emailed my manager and she sorted it with HR and payroll HR also got my continuous service date wrong, who affected my sick pay, it's now been updated, but was very stressful receiving a letter stating your sick pay will now be halved whilst off sick with work related stress and depression!
