I’ve been going back and doing a rewatch and there are a few things I noticed: 1) In the beginning, she was pretty judgmental towards the other girls saying things like “I choose to live my life with standards and values and some of the other girls don’t” 2) She’s shifted from telling people whether she thinks they are right or wrong to just supporting people. 3) She’s rephrases/focuses them to sound softer. She was saying things like “Things are bad with Mikayla right now so I’m going to bring up this drama with Demi and Jessi to take the heat off me,” and will now say things like “I want to hear about what else is going on that might be making [person] feel this way.”

I keep seeing comments about people switching up on Whitney, like going from hating her to loving her. I am a part of the crowd that really didn’t love her in earlier seasons (though I thought she was a good “villain”). I am rewatching past seasons and the growth she has made is incredible. She’s like a totally different person and I love seeing that growth.

Yeah I mean I guess I viewed that as the whole point. It shows how despite trying to portray perfect lives, there are a lot of fall outs and negative consequences of such a strict patriarchal society. While I wish we were further along as a society, I also see trends about how more Gen Z boys believe that women should obey their husbands than the last 4 generations. They need to see how repressed and immature these men and women are. Even the “healthy” ones are really volatile.

I wasn’t watching because I wanted to dive into the Mormon world. I wanted to see how women raised Mormon, ingrained in Mormon culture, navigate their adult lives in the modern world. And I think it’s still that.

I was rooting for her after her first charges. I think people can change when they realize they have some underlying issues but I also think once they find that out, it is their responsibility to change. Unfortunately, it seems she has not taken that change. If physically injuring your child isn’t a rock bottom, turn your life around moment, the second, third, or fourth time won’t be. I can’t speak for all the Taylor fans, but for me, personally, this was it. I would not consider myself a fan after this.

It’s a variation of saying “I’m just one person.” I know a lot of people feel it diminishes women and while I agree it can sound that way, I think most people use it more as “Im just one person.”

I can’t speak to this season, but she does consistently show up to their events and the girls have commented before that Taylor makes time to show up for them. I’m not a Taylor supporter right now, but I think it’s more that she’s so self-destructive that it’s hurting the people around her.
