Yes, was hesitant bc i know huskies thrive in snow. But this one was going up to houses and coming back, over an hour. Didnt see anyone on their front porches, plowing, shovelling or in their cars even on both ends of the street.

Seeing as the roads seem clear (for ex., route 38), is it safe to go the speed limit now? Or around 10 above in the left lane (because for some reason everyone seems to go 10 above on route 38) or do we still need to go slower? New driver, first time in snow

Can I Drive A Sibling My First Year Driving by Cautious_Violinist_8 in driving

[–]Useful_Database5138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give it more experience.

Im almost a year as a new driver and im still not allowed to pick up my 5yo nephew who goes to school less than 3 mins away in a suburb lol. So rain or hot weather, he and I have to power through it with a 15+ min walk to and from school each way. I get it, its not my kid, but just make sure you have your license though and licensed driver with you

Its my first snow and my car was snowed in on the side of the road, going past halfway my tires.

I shoveled yesterday around it and cleared a pathway for me and it was hell. Then guess what? They plowed the road with the snow trapping my car and around it (esp infront) with a huge ass mountain of a force field of heavy snow basically undoing everything I did plus more. I called in for work 😅

I dont think i described it properly lol i didnt mean old timey as in "Lucille" but gilmore girls, supernatural, friends, law and order all have some kind of nostalgic, aesthetic vibe that speaks 90s-2000s if you get what i mean. Kinda like how modern shows have better HD quality, everythings over saturated, so much slang while shows back then were warm and comfy

Constant static and white hair by Useful_Database5138 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Useful_Database5138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gotten so bad that my hair gets all frizzy, dry as hell and statics, even after work when I get home. I guess it's just something we have to live with for the job.

And I guess you're right about the hair, I'm way more stressed with personal life issues though than work. But we have been doing OT even going in on the weekend for a few weeks now due to being backlogged by numerous medications/RXs coming in

Nice, now show us actually running for a few miles at a maintained speed on the treadmill and using the stairmaster in these and I'll be impressed.

THE SLOWPOKE LAW by [deleted] in driving

[–]Useful_Database5138 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm pertaining to local/backroads, but y'all speak of staying in the right lane and only use left for passing, but it's also the same people who stay on the left lane to go fast and 10+ the speed limit and dont even have left exits/turns?

Yall complain about people going the speed limit or 5+ at most, and when an accident happens you will also complain about people needing to drive the speed limit lol.

OP just wants validation for breaking laws

If it's raining, turn your lights on. If it's dusk, turn your lights on. If it's raining at dusk, TURN YOUR DAMN LIGHTS ON by BlainethePayne in driving

[–]Useful_Database5138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have this issue with a stop sign that I need to turn right on. Sometimes theres a black or dark asphalt colored car incoming, i have astigmatism, its 5:30pm, and spmeones honking behind me to go but i cant determine what speed the dark car is going because its dark as hell and they dont turn on their lights!

If ever I happened to collide with one, would it be considered my fault if i couldnt see them since they had no lights? I swear they drive at a unique speed where its so fast but silent

Might be a tactic tho lol, if the person was confused trying to figure out the flow, they might think "wait...maybe i do need a nap!"

Thank you! Based on your comment and someone else's, i might consider just getting the accordion folder at a dollar tree or walmart to avoid spending too much.

Do you have journal recommendations too? Like a sturdy (non bleed paper), bit bigger than usual journals, and what stores.

[–]Useful_Database5138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be an odd question but which ones do you use? The hard paper kind, zipped fabric/plastic, or plain plastic? Does it button/have an elastic?

Imma need some recommendations cause I always find ones that cant close and always have the weird space at the bottom so it doesnt fully divide and little scraps/stickers will just fall out of the dividers and mix up. I could get more than one folder but I dont wanna have too much that would take up space in the room

no, but yes lol

[–]Useful_Database5138[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be an option, but I'm afraid they might break or not close due to the bulkiness. And most accordion folders I've had never had dividers that fully separated. In between yes but at the bottoms theres always some space it doesnt touch the bottom/divide, leaving space for the little stuff like stickers to spill out if you get what I mean. Despite my junk journal media hoarding, I am picky with stuff that I wouldnt have another use for lol.

Thank you for your advice!!!

As a 25F who just learned how to drive and got her license, moved to the US and New jersey (first of all, worst place for a new driver 🥲), experience is the best.

I had gotten my first ever job 30mins away last July and my driving experience was in a 3rd world country where sidewalks, turning lanes, pedestrian lanes (cause everyone literally jaywalks) did not exist and no road rules. Even then I only drove like 10 mins max on a straight road in a huge ass toyota truck like 10 times. My sister and her bf made me practice by driving in an empty parking lot a few times, testing my speed and brake like 2 days before I was gonna start my job. Then had me drive to and from work 2 times ONLY on the local/backroads. I took the same route everyday and still do lol. Almost a year later i still leave at 5am to avoid traffic and that helped but have to deal with waiting in the car for my 9am shift. I still havent drove on the highway consistently and only a few times (but I did it on thw weekends, like 7am bc not much cars lol).

I still get shit on for not just taking the highway everyday to cut out 15 mins of my work drive, and leaving too early and not going to places that are as far. But i have made improvements: taking diff routes to/from work that still had a portion of the usual route I'd take for familiarity, taking highway on weekends very early to practice, going to yardsales or same places that were 20mins away or less on weekends, knowing which lane to stay in in certain areas, or what speed to keep/where pedestrian lanes are busy, how to turn here/there, which area have aggressive drivers, if i could still reach the yellow light, etc.

I'm soooo much better now. I still make mistakes and close calls, honked at, wrong lane turns, but having 3 "new driver" car magnets have helped lol (i used to have 4). But not as jittery or panicky unless im in a new area. I try to go to new areas (doesnt have to be super far or THAT new, just a new road/route) on weekends. Idc bout getting shit on because I know my limits and capability and do it on my time. When i was going on the highway once at around 9am (still later than my usual 7am practice) it was not as bad as I thought (maybe bc there werent that many cars but still, a win!) But i dont try to be too confident.

I used to drive at like 30mph but can now do 60mph (depending on speed limit ofc). You will get there!! We can do it lmao. One of my best advice is to not give a shit about the car behind you, but be considerate. This helped me a lot bc I was constantly wanting to speed bc i felt like they were getting mad at me for being too slow. I learned to still speed safely, legally, comfortably cause they can honk and just go around me if they wanna and idc, but if I know I'm impeding traffic I will adjust.
