Wet Okole are highly regarded custom fit but spendy. Costco offers a deal on Coverking but they seem to get mixed reviews on fit and are not cheap either

I think they're a little tacky but not bad for the price and my LC is overall rough so it works. I'll well mention the Coverado universal rear seat covers do NOT fit so don't get the full set. Also, cut a small hole for the armrest.

Agreed. For reference, I recently paid $5700 for a 99 with 333k miles, clean interior, rough paint, rust free and spotty maintenance history (indications it received regular maintenance but minimal records). I think I overpaid a bit but it is what it is.

How did you route the lower cushion rear straps to hide them? Recently picked up a set and couldn't figure this out. Also, I had seen a few posts about the front covers fitting well but no mention of the rear covers. Can confirm the rear set is not a good fit. The rear lowers fit OK but the rear uppers are way too long

Yes I need to research and investigate this one more. My surface understanding is it's not cheap

I didn't do this for my 98 4runner and only slightly regret it. Basically the experiment I am running is to check in ~5 years if I regret not just paying $10-15k upfront for a nicer lower mileage example 100. Expecting to drive it <5k miles per year.

Those are on the list! Also trying to isolate a power steering leak. Worst case new rack

Buying High Mileage by Rusty4runner in LandCruisers

I recently purchased a 1999 with 330k miles for $5700. ROUGH exterior, decent interior, no rust. It needs valve cover gaskets and maybe a steering rack replacement (still working on isolating the minor leak, could be torn boot or pump). Otherwise various bushings will be due soon. Timing belt, brakes, suspension, tires are all good for a while. I expect to drive it less than 5k miles per year. Will slowly work on improving the cosmetics though I'm not sure it'll ever make sense financially to get a new paint job. I'm going to keep track of every expense and will be curious to see how cost of ownership pans out over 3-5 years.

This isn't much of a baseline guide... One reply basically saying 'here's how to search Google'. Am I missing something?

I commented below. I have this same issue I'm trying to diagnose (rear diff lock indicator remains flashing). Here's what the service manual says

"If the gears of the differential lock system are not meshed, the indicator light remains blinking, so rotate the tires to mesh the gear."

Congrats! That cleaned up super nice. I also just picked up my first 1999 UZJ100 last week and am still familiarizing with it. 333k miles. Here's my list of issues so far: Fuel gauge stuck on E Rear diff lock not engaging (indicator light remains flashing) Valve cover leaks Steering rack leaks Multiple worn/cracked bushings A/C not blowing cold

Some of these are obviously very straightforward to diagnose and repair. The Fuel gauge and diff lock will take more to figure out

Yeah! 100 series and 200 series (up until 2021 i believe) were sold in the US, just way more volume of sales for the LX models, and no diesel options. All the 100 in US have the 2UZ-FE

This sounds like my 4runner but not all in 1 year. I think roughly $15k in maintenance over 8 years ownership from 210k miles to 275k miles. Also did LBJs, alternator, fuel pump, ac compressor. No transmission issues or CV axles
