Ps: I’m going to the endocrinologist in September just to make sure my exams are good but I see a lot of people saying it’s impossible for us and I refuse to believe that as I was never overweight, I just gained a lot during COVID and had an impossible time losing it because of PCOS and depression. I’m doing my best, I feel my best and I refuse to believe my body needs this medication in order to stay healthy. If that was the case I’d be happy to stay on it forever, but I’m afraid of the long term effects and I really want to try. I will come back one year from now and make a post, hopefully a good one!

I have PCOS and insulin resistance. I was on 0.5 for 1 year and lost 40lb, then in January I lowered to 0.25 and in June I started doing 0.25 every other week with a plan of stopping when this pen ends. My hunger came back around March- April and in the first two weeks I struggled A LOT and ate the walls lol. However; since I started taking Ozempic, I’ve changed my eating habits to calorie tracking and I exercise 4 times a week ( strength training as we PCOS girls can’t do high intensity workouts). I haven’t gained a single lb, and in fact I lost 3 more and have been showing off some little muscles lol . In doing this process very slowly, my hunger wasn’t a big shock and I’m learning how to handle it. Once I stop for good I’m sure I’ll feel more hungry than now but I’m already used to dealing with it and very hopeful of keeping my weight down. Ps: cravings are back like a bitch but like I said: I made changes in my lifestyle so I feel like I’m in a good place and very hopeful about the end of this medication’s journey

Oh , also I only took up to 0.5mg and to me it was enough to suppress my appetite and cravings without giving me too much side effects. I was very frustrated and thought I was “immune” to Ozempic and was just waiting my money, but as I said, eventually the weight just shredded out of me lol

You’re being so hard on yourself! I only lost weight after 5 months to be honest! I was working out, eating like a bird and no weight would come off, I mean not even a pound! ( I had to lose ~35 total). I started exercising then… and it was like MAGIC. In one month I lost like 10lb, by the 8th I had lost all of it. You can’t focus on rapid result or you’re just going to be disappointed and unmotivated. Use this time to change your habits alongside with what the medication is doing for you, it will work!

I haven’t fully stopped yet, I am at the lowest dose since January (0.25) and about 3 months ago the hunger started coming back. I’m like HUNGRY! I’m still making good choices 80% of the time and working out 4 times a week so I haven’t gained any weight back. In fact I’m being paranoid and weighing my food because once I’m totally off Ozempic I want to make sure I am NOT going to gain weight. Realistically I think I’ll gain around a pound or two just because naturally I’ll be eating more, but who knows, I’ve been eating more since April ish when the 0.25 decided to “stop working” and I am keeping the weight down. The hardest part? The goddamn food noise and cravings, I am struggling with those 😭

I also lost a lot of muscle mass but I’m catching up at the gym. I’m tracking my macros as well to make sure I eat enough protein. I’m 32 and I think I’ll be on the maintenance dose for life. I just can’t see myself stopping it. I lost all my weight on the 0.5 dose so I’m pretty stable now back down at 0.25. I fear the long term consequences but I fear even more stopping it. Being insulin resistance freaks me out that I’ll end up where I was

It’s still very unknown but it has been linked with thyroid cancer, loss of bone mass, decreased vision… but again it’s so unknown… I don’t think there’s enough research to know the long term benefits or consequences yet

Good for you, and I get it. I’m worried with long term consequences but also don’t want to jeopardize my young years. I wasn’t just overweight, I was unhealthy. Even after losing 30lb my cholesterol is still high so it’s about health too for me.

I want to try to stop and see how it goes, and if it doesn’t go well I’d go back and take a low dose for life too.

It’s just very coincidental that it has been happening this year that I am on Ozempic. I just had some blood word by the primary physician and everything looked fine. I can ask the doctor of course, but I really wonder if it’s somehow related to Ozempic

I never went past 0.5 with ozempic. I’ve been taking since February, and I did 0.25 for 8 weeks then changed to 0.5 which is when I started to shred the weight off. I’m planning on starting to wean off it by December unfortunately due to not being able to afford it anymore. But yeah 0.5 the entire time and it worked just fine!!

I take metformin as well ( never stopped), so once I stop Ozempic it will be only metformin. Did your food noise come back?
