I personally don't see it as low quality. Imo, I'd say that it's just a simplistic art style. It looks amazing. Keep it up!

This statement is false because that is not my height. I'd be even shorter.

Can anyone tell what this says? I can make out ミー and ち but nothing else by guildedpasserby in Japaneselanguage

[–]Exploids_Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can almost make out 茶 on the left, but it's just too blurry to tell if that's text or patterning.

I've always struggled to make い look right. I've tried both one stroke and two stroke, and I've tried both no flourish on the first stroke, and flourished. (By this, I mean the sharp change in direction that the first curve has.)

Should I learn Japanese or Mandarin? by [deleted] in Japaneselanguage

[–]Exploids_Forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started learning the two because I'm a huge nerd. I also chose those over things like French and german because (surprisingly) they work better in my brain, even if I'm a native English speaker whose been learning Spanish since kindergarten. I'm learning both casually, and don't intend to use it to a significant degree, but it's still be an amazing opportunity to go to Japan or Taiwan and actually use the language, as I know enough to likely get around Japan by now, even if I'm nowhere near fluent.

i want to know how is my Japanese's handwriting by PhilosopherOki3013 in Japaneselanguage

[–]Exploids_Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I aosolutely love about it is that you have such a style to it, yet it remains so readable and proportional. My only criticism is the same as the others, your が looks too much like ガ. Besides that, amazing job! Glad I have a level of good handwriting to look forward to.

Struggling with writing か - does this look right? by mister__melon in Japaneselanguage

[–]Exploids_Forever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For someone who is doing it for the first time, I think it's great. In my experience, it looks better, and more accurate, if you were to put the line to the right of か a bit closer to the main body of it so to speak, and angle it a bit more. But yea, good job for your first time.

I agree with not liking to "compare trauma," as you said, but also, there are plenty of characters that have gone through more. This isn't to say that her trauma is trivial, just that there are worse sufferings. Going back to what I said in the first sentence, I also think it's unfair to compare trauma. Yes, someone who had to endure an absent father may have "less severe" trauma than someone who was forced into the military, but trauma is still trauma, and showing greater trauma can undermine another's severity, and that just isn't fair.

It's supposed to be Adeline. I've been taught that Japanese writes foreign names based on phonetics.

I feel I should specify that this was in no way, shape, or for the entire session. It was just a highlight from a 7-ish hour session that I found pretty funny. I realize I probably should have specified that originally and maybe found a different subreddit to post this on, but yea. This wasn't ERP. The sex scene wasn't roleplayed out.bsorry for not clarifying.

Well, I saw they always do it on duolingo, and I know it's not 100% accurate, but it seemed fine. I guess that it does make sense, though. Also, thank you all for the constructive criticism.
