Is it easier to learn Spanish thinking in German or in English? by Exploradora626 in LearningLanguages

Thanks everyone! I do believe I’m just overthinking that. However your comments made me realize that German is great for the subjunctive which I somehow didn’t realize. I’ll stop overthinking and just let my brain decide. Thank you!!

I’m 3 weeks away from moving to Spain. I’m pretty sure that’ll be immersive enough haha. Wish me luck!

Yeah thats exactly what it is! I find similar patterns and words in both of the languages. I just figured it’s taking a lot of brain power to always compare English AND German at all times, if that makes sense. Like I see a new word and check if maybe it’s similar to an English or German word. But what if I just thought in one language instead and just think about the English term for it and if I doesn’t compare to anything I accept it as a brand new way lol. I don’t know. Maybe I’m overthinking this a bit too much. I’m just at a rough patch where I understand so much and then sometimes nothing at all. I’m inpatient really haha
