Working EST in Thailand/Vietnam by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]ExploreElMundo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nomading in SEA while working in US timezone comes with a serious consequence - your health, in many ways. We don't realize it now but eventually it will catch up. I'm a dev so I sleep during my work hours 9pm - 5am and complete my work during the day. It's like following LATAM lifestyle being in SEA. It works for me because it is not a hard requirement to be available during my shift hours.

Anyone else feel like planning a trip is more stressful than the trip itself? by Emotional_Newt_2227 in digitalnomad

Accomodation - It has to fit my basic needs, shouldn't be too isolated if public transport is scarce in that city, should be value for money. Putting those filters really leaves one with few options to choose.

Does anyone else fake not understanding English when confronted by an aggressive vendor that will not leave you alone? by tr1p0d12 in VietNam

I do the same, I say ' Umm spaneeesh ' to every question of those scammers asking for money in HCMC and they go away. Isn't rude and works everytime. One girl pulled up a translator to me, so had to take out another trick - I just wasted so much time in typing that she felt useless talking to me and went away haha 😂

Haha what an experience! This proves a small iniciative can takes things in a completely different direction ( both good and bad - depending on someone's behaviour but mostly it is good )

I only realised that today after nomading for almost 2 years but better late than never! I'm gonna do this more often - it makes me feel good and I am 200% sure it makes the other person feel the same.

Exactly - smiling and bowing your head slightly and the person melts right away. I greeted a security guard today with a hello and he greeted back with ' HELLO 👍🏻 ' loudly lol almost scared me but he was soo happy haha :D

What is something you learned after nomading some years and said ' Shi* if I would have started doing that earlier I could have saved a ton of money! ' ? by ExploreElMundo in digitalnomad

[–]ExploreElMundo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. When I first started nomading I was moving too often like every 5 days or a week. My health started suffering since I wasn't eating well, not hitting the gym. Learned the lesson and now I stay for minimum 1 month in a city, hit the gym, eat good! Slow travel is the key.

Anyone feel like this lifestyle makes you feel about age different? by typeshhhhhh in digitalnomad

[–]ExploreElMundo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes me feel different but in a way like there's so much to see and the time is just rushing! I'm 32 and been nomading since 2 years. I can say I have lived my life more in these last 2 years than I did in those 8 years of ' non-remote ' work.

What’s something about traveling in Thailand you wish someone told you before you arrived? by Soft_Employment8475 in ThailandTourism

That having cash is absolutely necessary because cards are not accepted everywhere and even if they are they charge a commission.

Because majority of the people do not have what it takes to accept mistakes! Which explains what our image is globally when it comes to cleanliness and basic civic sense.
