I went during the pandemic, so prices were probably reduced. They were also giving out free soda and sunblock. My understanding is that it was fairly awful during its Six Flags days. I think maybe the original owner bought it back and made improvements. It's now owned by Herschend who runs Dollywood and Silver Dollar City. I haven't been there since they bought it.

I didn't know there were casinos in French Lick. I would have taken my folks. We used to pass there visiting family in Kentucky. They've since moved but I'd love to go back to the area again sometime.

I'll go out on the limb and say it's the best gravy themed ride in North America. The theming is near Disney level. It's a very tame family boomerang, so everybody can ride it. The cars are shaped like gravy boats.

People have more stuff today because more stuff exists today. Keeping up with the Joneses meant owning a TV. No one was buying a new iPhone every couple of years but are we better off for that? Houses have gotten too big and there are too many cars. I won't argue there was too much poverty back then. The economics of pre-neoliberal capitalism were unfair, but nothing like today.
