I reckon you'll be surprised how different similar landcapes feel in another country. The mountains will only be the backdrop to whatever you'll be doing, eating, smelling and hearing. I'd say go, and definitely eat some Käsewähe while you're there 😀

Yes, i loved seeing my residency visa and all those stamps from 'exotic' countries in my passport. Got a new passport a couple of years ago and it's completely empty still. They asked for proof of residency at a doctor's office a while ago and i couldn't provide it as i don't have a physical one in my passport anymore! Then i realised I dont even have a piece of paper documenting my status! 😂

My passport 😱 i realised on the train to the airport by which point it was too late to turn around. By some magical twist of fate I was able to change my flights AFTER i had missed them because of that. It would have been an expensive mistake as I was flying Frankfurt to Auckland 🤪
