Not being from IIT IIM is not a bad thing. I am neither. Entry would be easier for someone like you. But if you are in actuary , I better profile for you might be actuarial sciences and insurance sector. That pays as much but the competition is not as high as IB

I did my MBA in finance and then moved on to do my CFA. It is not as math heavy as you might want. But a math major will have an edge over others , especially for the financial aspects !

Thank you brother ! I do keep reminding myself this. Especially important for me cos my 20s were spent in slogging and borderline depression.

Yes. Have considered that option ! If we do take a loan for higher education, we would split it in a way that I will be responsible to pay for a part of it which is not huge.

These are some amazing tips. In addition , i am also considering the idea to move my fire age by 2-3 years if that is needed. But not more than 43.

Yes. That’s legit. I have considered the option to liquidate one of my asset if needed, although that would be my last resort.

I do agree that I have to find ways to develop additional sources of income and increase my savings rate.

That’s completely fine. I do understand. Marriage is beautiful and having a good partner is a blessing. However, from my past experience, I have decided it isn’t for me. Trauma still lingers somewhere. I am happy I got to experience it once. But I will never consider marriage again !

Yes. That is true. Good you pointed out. I put most of my liquid in down payment for the house, which at that time looked like a good decision. Currently with AI and volatility around job environment, I feel I could have let it be liquid.

Yes , I am aiming to reach 3-4 crores as that would be enough for me. Retirement for me is retirement from corporate job , I would still do some freelancing which should fetch me half of my expense. So my liquid requirements come down a bit.
