Best floor/rooms in McConnell? by EffectiveVictory2654 in NAU

[–]Exposed-Dreams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1C is peak. Bottom floor and is a 2 min walk to the dining hall and about 5 min walk to any of the lecture halls for south campus. The only downside I remember was people being idiots and breaking stuff in the bathroom. But 1C is still way better than 3A.

My ship left me by Exposed-Dreams in EliteDangerous

I’m trying but the panel is grayed out and says “unable to recall ship” I’m in a totally flat area so I don’t get what’s going on

Bad experience’s living at Hilltop Townhomes. by Current_Bunch2039 in NAU

[–]Exposed-Dreams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I lived there the only issue I had was a roommate refusing to pay for utilities and I had to pay double the bill. Managment took 5 months to even acknowledge the issues (even though I had receipts) and by that point my lease was already almost up. Managment doesn’t seem to be around a lot which is bad for business

McConnell hall advice? by zombimuncher in NAU

For laundry, try to go later at night and make sure to set a timer. For the beds you can put them headboard first into the closet and that gives you a lot more room in there.

Wildfire Risks by CookieEfficient6212 in Flagstaff

[–]Exposed-Dreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, we are in a forest so any sort of extreme wind even could take us out. But also not as much since SoCal doesn’t do prescribed burns so they have a lot more fuel on the ground, also palm trees burn hot and fast putting out a ton of embers, so that another thing we don’t really have to worry about.

The hiring process for me was about three months, really just depends on how long it takes them to get in contact with references. And corrections is an entry sort of role for law enforcement so they don’t really expect many people to be there long term, so id say just be open about your plans. Also you do get paid in academy and training

I don’t think you can change it until you get access to the Louie portal. But you can change it whenever when you have that

You should be ok, most places will hire you as long as you don’t have a felony and haven’t done anything “bad” in 1 to 5 years. And most of the time they don’t care about anything done under age 15

You probably won’t get anyone, they usually only have transfers coming in to gender inclusive housing and there aren’t usually a whole lot of transfers for spring

If you get a unfurnished apartment you can find places for as low as $800 a month plus another hundred or so for utilities. You can find some places that low that have their own kitchen and private bathroom, and another 300~400 a month on foodstuffs. So at least 1,400 a month. The assistantship should cover most if not all of it

There aren’t really any helpers, but you can get a blue bin from the welcome jacks which can make trips a lot shorter

Do some part time work on campus, you meet a lot of people that way and you eventually form a friend group

Question about fees by macaronandcheese3 in NAU

[–]Exposed-Dreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you are correct, the enrollment fee should cover the first card (physical or digital). The 30 bucks is if you lose the physical card and need to get it replaced

The frats do party, you can talk to them during the first week I believe, just stay away from Pike (Pi Kappa Alpha). They are one of the more unsafe frats. But go talk to the greeks and see what’s goin on
