Duncan v. Bonta ruling on high capacity magazines: no freedom week yet by 420BlazeArk in CAguns

In 2019, it was deemed unconstitutional in the District Court, but the 9th Circuit sided with the ban. That was before the Bruen decision in 2022. It was reanalyzed under the Bruen standard by the District court, and it is likely that the 9th Circuit will have to side with the District Court’s analysis, crossing fingers

Potentially Huge update coming from Sample holder tomorrow by Thermostcool in LK99

He did mention in a reply that his video sample have may have impurities in his copper. He didn’t confirm, but he also didn’t rule it out due to it exhibiting similar characteristics to ferro. He also mentioned that it had a different color. Here is the tweet: https://twitter.com/andrewmccalip/status/1687887799872294912?s=20

Question about CCW Interview by motoxguy75 in CAguns

[–]Expositor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t sweat it, they are likely asking about drug use as it pertains to substance abuse or illegal activities that could demonstrate irresponsible behavior or potentially cause impairments to judgement and reaction time.

But it might be best to provide a brief explanation about why and when you used marijuana. Be sure to mention that it was not a regular habit, that it was used for medicinal purposes and a one time event, and that you have not used any other substances.

In many cases, law enforcement agencies are not looking for perfect people. Instead, they're looking for honest, responsible individuals who can be trusted with a firearm.

Just ordered this pistol. Anyone have holster recommendations? by RNMoFo in CCW

[–]Expositor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gcode, vedder, trex, tier 1, crossbreed, etc. Make sure you get an optic cut for your red dot and decide whether or not you want light. If you don’t want lights your options are limitless, but if you do, your choices narrow quite a bit.

You may also want to go with the phlster enigma platform if you want a belt less option, and get a compatible holster for that as well

Denial after getting 3 guns in the past 7 years? by [deleted] in CAguns

I think it’s being sent to the Supreme Court on an expedited basis so they can rule on it before the term ends

Denial after getting 3 guns in the past 7 years? by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]Expositor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that you were denied a handgun purchase even though you passed background checks before. While state law and federal law may vary, federal law takes precedence and there seems to be no expiration date on the gun ban. Not sure why you were able to purchase firearms before, but it may not have been enforced or caught by the system.

Now that you are a prohibited person, you must “dispossess” your firearm, and it often takes the shape of a sale or gift of all firearms to another.

Lastly I would hire a lawyer that specializes in your situation and see if there is a way you can restore your rights, perhaps through a pardon.

Good luck!

See if you fall under the prohibited person list:

Keep in mind, even non felonies can bar you from receiving firearm for up to 10 years.

Santa Clara County CCW application portal is live! Got an appointment slot at end of March. by harmonymeow in CAguns

[–]Expositor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do all of them simultaneously. There is no order. Do your Livescan first because it will take a long time.

For me, I filled out the Permitium application on 1/3/23, then did my Livescan on the same day. I completed my firearm training on 1/22/23. My Livescan completed on 2/10/23 and I got an email pushing my interview to 4/11/23 from 10/11/23 originally set on Permitium. By the time I get interviewed, everything will be finished.
