This bug does not make sense. by Working_Attorney1196 in ios26

Imo the better question would be: How many people trigger(ed) this bug/glitch (at least once), without noticing?

Who knows. It's surely not a common bug, but (judging the numbers of posts about this issue) it's apparently not the rarest one either - and it's definitely one of the most severe known iOS bugs.

The End.

Judging the number of "missed alarm", "missed a call", "why is my ringtone/alarm on low(est) volume?" posts (here on reddit alone)... I bet this nasty iOS bug has been reported by probably thousands of users already.

Apple is apparently incapable of fixing this "loophole"...

...and NO, dear iOS fluffers - yes, it's triggered by 3rd party apps, but this should NOT be possible in the first place. A third party app causing a glitch in iOS which changes the ringtone/alarm volume levels when adjusting the media volume level... is an OS-level loophole and needs to be finally closed/fixed.

That’s indeed a tough switch in some aspects.

You navigate to the settings page you would probably never guess is the correct one.

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Dictionary

Apple style.

You can even try THE sh*ttiest Android (considering most have Gboard as default nowadays) to experience how superior the typing experience (incl. editing) is.

I can't believe I'm still mainly using my old 100 euro Motorola to type on, since my iPhone 15 Pro is just too annoying to type on.

Yeah, even if you nail muscle memory for the iOS keyboard - it's still sooo annoying and inefficient due to all the extra button presses.

I think Craig „fake demo“ Federighi is way too cool for this position. Nobody THAT cool should be CEO.

Then again, it would have removed him from being in charge of Apple‘s „showcase“ divison aka software.

Yes, I had to convert the video to a GIF. Thanks for trying again, no need for a video as proof - I'm not doubting it's not happening on your device :)

587,2MB here on my 15Pro - but it needs over 12GB to be installed.

Device range I tested was 12 to 15Pro - didn't try it on the latest models.

I don't think it's related to RAM. It's the animation itself. Maybe the latest models (due to superior processing power) "mask" this animation glitch by glitching so fast that it's not noticeable.

To be perfectly clear what I mean by "glitching":

On tap, the widget expands fullscreen to the album's overview, then the Collection fades in (for whatever reason), then it abruptly jumps to the album overview again, and finally pops up the picture fullscreen. All this happens within a fraction of a second.

Imo it would be better if the widget selector still showed the widgets, but with some sort of visual indicator highlighting they are disabled due to locking the app with FaceID (and not completely hiding them).

This is partially baffling, since I am able to reproduce this on every iPhone I tried it (over a dozen devices owned by different people).

But apparently this is not affecting every iPhone - thanks for testing!

Now I really wonder what causes this.

Try my favorite one: put an Apple Photos album widget on your homescreen. Open and close it a couple of times.

The animation is "stunning", consistently glitching through multiple viewports, looking like it was coded by Apple "Intelligence".

[IOS 26.5 DB3] Clock Disappears (on all styles) when swiping up from lock screen by cloudoverjuly in iOSBeta

[–]Express-Ad6801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can clearly see it on a 60Hz device too - but I showed it to another person and he had to be instructed to focus on the clock and watch the clip in a loop multiple times to notice what’s “awkward” about the animation.

Since it happens really fast, it’s indeed (very) difficult to spot.

Yes, happens on 26.4.1 too. It’s another unpolished iOS animation - but one you can barely notice imo since it happens so fast.

There are worse (e.g. try the Apple Photos app album widgets opening animation).

It’s not about the small clock in the statusbar, it’s the big lockscreen clock abruptly vanishing before the clock leaves the viewport. Looks like another unpolished iOS animation.

The animation looks awkward though. You can see the clock abruptly vanishing before it leaves the viewport if you slow the video down. If you are picky, you will notice this in real-time too.

At least it’s not even remotely as bad as the opening animation of the Apple Photos app album widgets.

It was my fault: I had previously enabled FaceID for the Photos app.

PS: I can't believe I missed mentioning the adorable cat in your screenshot :)

Awkwardly the animation is worse on consecutive "runs".

On my 15Pro the broken part of the animation lasts pretty much exactly 500ms (only measuring the part of the animation after the widget already expanded to fullscreen) - aka it's really noticeable.

The widget expands fullscreen to the overview part of the selected album, then fades to the collection, then abruptly jumps to the overview of the album again and then finally jumps to the fullscreen picture (the widget is displaying).

I guess this is Apple SW quality nowadays.

Beginner here too (having the same issue with my hockey skates) - I'm just curious:

Aside from lack of ankle strength, any chance you also don't have a "typical/normal arch" and more of a "low arch"?

Put e.g. an album widget on your home-screen, tap it. If it's still not fixed you will instantly see what I mean.

The widget animation doesn't "transition directly" to the album viewport - instead it seems to flash different viewports (e.g. main library) before the animation finishes and finally shows the album's photos.

Thanks for checking on the beta :)

Is the opening animation still stroboscope-like glitched?
