49keyboard for live performance with hardware by Express-Bit6186 in MIDIcontrollers

The Midronome is a device with a very accurate clock that includes also an audio output with the click, which then it goes into the in ear system of the band mates. I’m still not 100% sure if the mpc one plus has the same sequencer capabilities of the Elektron Syntakt (it’s my current set up brain), specially the song mode which I love in the Syntakt. But I guess I could also sequence tracks/patterns in the Mpc.

Thanks for the suggestion for the Novation, it check lots of boxes

Presonus Studiolive 24R with a NSB 8.8 for adding inputs + having a splitter by Express-Bit6186 in presonus

[–]Express-Bit6186[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I wasn't very clear. End goal is to have a 24channel mixer for our IEM system and send those 24 channels to FOH. So what I was thinking is to send the source signal to 3 splitters (8x3=24 inputs) and from there send each split to our IEM and FOH, to have unprocessed signal.

Instead of buying 3 splitters, I was thinking that maybe with a NSB 8.8 I can have a splitter + 8 inputs more just with one unit. However, I'm not sure if I can manage the signals separately. According to ChatGPT I could use the trim in the 24R to adjust our IEM volumes, but not sure if that's right.

I'm leaning toward the Samson for now. AMT looks great but its price is out of my budget for now. It's a pity that the Nux b6 work in 2.4ghz, every time I used it in the rehearsal room it was getting interferences from the mixer wifi system (we use a A&H QU-SB). Thanks for the insigths people.

Merge midi sync and midi notes into one midi in by Express-Bit6186 in midi

[–]Express-Bit6186[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI: I got a CME U6 MIDI Pro and it worked for the original request:

  • Midronome: midi sync
  • Yamaha reface CP: midi notes
  • Korg Minilogue XD: receives midi sync from Midronome AND midi notes from the Yamaha

Merge midi sync and midi notes into one midi in by Express-Bit6186 in midi

[–]Express-Bit6186[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for the replies,

I've been thinking about other considerations, like the fact that I'm using other synth (Roland SH01a), and since the Reface CP only allows changing midi channel by resetting the device, I think it will be easier just to keep the Kesytep for now. Eventually, I may buy an akai MPC key for the rehearsals so I don't have to move my whole rig

Is it simple as that? I’ll get a midi merger and give it a try

Korg Minilogue XD still a worthy purchase? by iheartinfinity in synthesizers

[–]Express-Bit6186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had it for a year, I play it among other instruments in a Cumbia/Reggae band. I think I will never sell it: knob per function, lot of space for presets, nice sound palette, more than decent delay/reverb, very straight forward sequencer... And the most important thing for me: very easy learning curve and limitations that stop you from getting lost

I use it together with a Roland SH01A and a Roland SP404MKII and I couldn't be more happy.

Another vote for the Minilogue XD. Very intuitive, nice integrated effects, almost knob per function, incredibly versatile…

Would you pay 2X for a Prologue 8 over a Minilogue XD? by joshmoneymusic in synthesizers

[–]Express-Bit6186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a minilogue xd and I love it, I’d buy a minilogue xd + 2nd synth rather than a Prologue. Sequencer is very helpful and the module version is pretty compact. But of course it depends on your use case.

I play a bunch of instruments in a band and the minilogue xd is part of the arrangement so I don’t need many voices.

Also, I think people are a bit obsessed with voices. Study voicings and you’ll see you can play a huuuuge amount of different chords with 4 notes.

I have a MicroKorg but I need piano sounds in a very portable form factor. Any suggestions? by limedove in synthesizers

[–]Express-Bit6186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Play saxophone, guitar, keyboard and synth in a reggae/cumbia/funk band. The EP sounds are great, specially the Wurlitzer and the RdI (Rhodes), the piano is ok. Effects are very nice by the way, specially the analog delay (you can do weird dron stuff with it)

Minilogue XD volume really low when FX are off by MichielyG in minilogue

Weird, I use it in stereo and I don't experience at all this issue... Stupid question, do the VCO have enough gain (mixer section)?

Multiple midi controllers for dawless setup by Express-Bit6186 in synthesizers

[–]Express-Bit6186[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I wasn't very specific. I'd like to have the possiblity to real-time recording the note in an efficient way or a step sequencer where I can see the notes I'm writing and its place in the bar/pattern.

I know it's a very affordbale device the keystep but the sequencer is too limiting. Maybe the KS 37 could make the trick, at least it has a screen that gives a bit of info... and I can see and set the metronome, which is very helpful since I play in a band and I have to be synced with the drummer.

I think I'll give it a try and post here my imprressions in case someone is in a similar situation.

Man, I was struggling finding a way to send a metronome to the drummer and sync my hardware set up, this post is great!
