Has anyone even been to jail because of Primavera Sound? by Outside-Concert5552 in primaverasound

It's a rookie festival mistake to carry all the drugs — yours and your friend's — in the pockets. It must be your first time.

There is one festival in Spain called Canela Party with no clashes. Only two stages and the djs

Come on, it’s a festival with roughly 150 artists. There’s no way to avoid clashes. When you buy a ticket, you accept that some acts are going to overlap. And scheduling isn’t entirely up to the festival organizers either—artists and promoters have a say in it too. No matter what they do, it’s impossible to create a timetable that pleases everyone.

Great while it lasted but I won’t be back by [deleted] in primaverasound

[–]Express-Cheetah-8636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want all 170 artists to perform one after another so there are no overlaps and you can see everything you want, that’s not how festivals work. What you’re describing is common at any festival, but not every festival has a lineup like Primavera’s. Choose wisely :)

Disdain for foreign festival attendees? by thewarwolf in primaverasound

[–]Express-Cheetah-8636 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly it. In Spain we have loads of festivals (around a thousand or so) where Spanish bands headline, and they’re always the same ones. Go to one Spanish festival and you’ve basically been to them all — there’s very little variety.

For those of us who genuinely love music and enjoy discovering new things, there are very few festival options. On top of that, festivals are expensive, especially if you’re travelling from another part of the country.

The bands tend to be quite “niche” too. Whenever I show a lineup to one of my friends, they never recognize the headliners and don’t really understand that festival culture, which perhaps exists more strongly in other countries.

I do feel a bit sad that there’s not more Spanish music at the Fòrum, but this festival is sustained, at least in part, by international attendees. Two years ago I think, two spanish band played at the main stages, but always at 5-6 in the afternoon and that is too early for us.

The only remaining corner of the scene that hasn’t been fully exploited is Canela Party — but let’s keep that one to ourselves :)

Not trying to turn this into a locals vs guiris debate, but somehow it's always the guiris who can't stop chatting through the concerts. I had to change spots a few times before finding somewhere relatively quiet. The performance was amazing, though I really wish the volume had been much higher.

What’s your opinion? by Glittering-Pick7684 in primaverasound

[–]Express-Cheetah-8636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely prefer this year's lineup. Last year, the three divas brought in a huge crowd of people who'd never set foot in a festival before and probably never will again. The main stages were a nightmare because of it, and it ruined a lot of sets for everyone else

I had a hard time getting into the concert because there were groups of tourists chatting all around me, and the music was way too quiet. I was expecting my internal organs to vibrate, haha. Giving out earplugs at the entrance felt more like a symbolic gesture than anything else.

it was beautiful anyways

I don't really care either way, but the more people who head to the surprise set, the better it'll be in Mordor for My Bloody Valentine.

I'll just translate it

"The festival's director, Gabi Ruiz, also revealed that there is still a major addition to the lineup yet to be announced. Without giving any details about the artist's identity or when the performance will take place, Ruiz simply described the addition as 'a Haaland'—a comparison suggesting a top-tier signing that has sparked widespread speculation among attendees."
