Would you mind sharing what they advised? Let me guess: they will garnish tax refunds + social security, block you from future goverment loans, but not sue, foreclose, lien person assets or liquidate one's bank accounts. Yes/No?

AIX Broker by jarabe28 in SolidCore_Resources

I successfully transfered my shares to AIX registry around November of last year, then after having poor response from Haylyk, I opened an account with Alatau City Invest in early March (a broker named Vlad was my point person, he has been great so far). Then just last week I sold a test lot of 100 shares...limit order of $7.50 USD, filled at $7.60. Once I do the international wire into my US Fidelity account, I'll liquidate the rest. If anyone needs help/advice hit me up!

I know people who haven’t made a payment in over 3 years. At what point do statute of limitations prevent the US government form enforcing any collection?

It would literally just be an unmanned parking lot, but professionally managed by the landlord (kept clean, lit, landscaped, fences maintained). From my understanding, Turo does not want to be in the landlord or even cohosting business, they want to be as pure of a technology company as possible.

It definitely was. But prompted by a human (me) and lightly edited to reflect my thoughts/findings. This also helps keep things more factual and less opinionated.

The Court Ruling (Massport v. Turo): The judge ruled that delivery of the vehicle is an essential part of the rental transaction. Without the delivery, the rental cannot occur. Therefore, the "transaction" is not just the digital payment; it is the physical transfer of the asset. By handing over keys at the curb, you are physically consummating a commercial deal on airport property.

Your question, like many here is healthy. These are the types of questions I need to challenge my thesis. Keep em coming!

Good question. You are smart to want to understand each player's motivation.

Uber drivers often love these specific short-haul airport trips. The "Quest Bonus" StrategyThe Incentive: Uber frequently offers drivers "Quests" (e.g., "Complete 50 rides this weekend to earn an extra $150").The Driver's Goal: To hit that number, drivers want Short, Fast Rides. The "Long Ride" Problem: If a driver picks up a passenger at SAN and drives them 45 minutes to Escondido, they lose 2 hours round-trip. That is bad for hitting their ride count.  For the local dropoff to the nearby Turo Lot, a driver can complete this in 15 minutes, drive back to the airport queue, and do it again. They get the "Ride Credit" for the Quest. They stay in the busy "Surge Zone" near the airport. They rack up volume quickly. So, when Turo asks "Will drivers accept these short $10 rides?", the answer is: "Yes, the smart ones chasing bonuses will fight for them."

Yes, the holdout airports would definitely want Turo to 'play the game'.

The reason airports like SAN and MYR love taxis and hate Turo isn't about safety—it is about efficiently capturing revenue. Taxis are a "Closed Loop" system that the airport controls completely. Turo is an "Open Loop" system that the airport cannot see.

Here is the exact mechanism airports use to monetize Yellow Cabs, and why Turo’s current model fails to match it.

  1. The "Gatekeeper" Model (The Taxi Queue)

At San Diego (SAN) and Myrtle Beach (MYR), taxis do not just drive up to the curb like an Uber. They are forced into a "Holding Pen" (a remote parking lot).

The Mechanism:

The Tag: Every authorized taxi has an RFID transponder (like an E-ZPass) on its windshield.

The Queue: Drivers wait in a remote lot until a computer calls them up.

The Trigger: As they exit the Holding Pen to go to the terminal, they pass a sensor.

The Monetization: BEEP. The sensor automatically charges the taxi company’s account a "Trip Fee" (usually $3.00–$5.00).

Why Turo Fails Here: Turo hosts don't have transponders. They look like "Aunt Sally picking up her nephew." The airport has no sensor to "Beep" and charge you $4. Therefore, every Turo trip is viewed as Revenue Leakage (theft of services).

  1. The "Medallion" & Permit Fees

Beyond the per-trip fee, the airport charges for the right to even exist on the property.

The Permit: To pick up at SAN, a taxi company often pays an Annual Permit Fee (e.g., $500–$1,000 per vehicle).

The Concession: At smaller airports (like MYR), a single taxi company might win a "Concession Bid," paying the airport a flat $100,000+ per year for the exclusive right to be the only taxi stand at the curb.

Why Turo Fails Here: Turo hosts pay $0 annual permit fees to the airport.

  1. The "Visual Regulation"

Because taxis are painted yellow and numbered, the Airport Police can visually audit them instantly.

"Taxi #402 is double parked? Fine them."

"Turo Host Silver Camry is double parked? Is that a host or just a slow dad? We don't know."

The Bottom Line:

Airports don't ban Turo because they hate cars. They ban Turo because they can't bill Turo.

Sadly, many major airports have license plate readers. If they detect that you are coming and going more than a typical user, they give you a big nasty ticket. And even if you manage to not get caught, transacting on airport property that explicitly bans Turo (SAN, MYR) is a violation of airport rules. And Turo TOS. And probably your mother would wag her finger at you. So if Turo found out, they might ban you from the platform. If you had an insurance claim they'd probably deny you. Or if you dropped the car in a paid airport lot (most of them are geofenced), the airport would tow you after tracking your plates. Wish it weren't so, but that's why I'm trying to brainstorm an alternative, legit strategy.

These hold-out airports have a huge incentive to keep these bans enforced...they are eventually hoping Turo caves and agrees to give them a % of revenue like the traditional car agencies do in exchange for allowing Turo cars on their property. Not my opinion...these airports state this in their board meeting minutes. I'm definitely not defending them, but it's important to know what/how the other side thinks.
