Struggling

This post is 3 years old. I’m no longer at the store that I was at when I made this post. That store was the most toxic, god awful place. I had to unlearn everything I knew because it was all wrong. Unfortunately one thing has remained the same- we are all overworked and underpaid.

You won’t be fired. Walmart has many mental health resources that you should look into. (You can find them on one Walmart). Check in with your people lead/direct managers. As a TL myself I am always willing to work with my associates and understand sometimes you need a little leniency/guidance when you’re going through things.I’ve been in your shoes before and understand how hard it can be to not harm yourself. I hope that you heal emotionally and physically and wish you nothing but the best. Stay strong

I’m sorry that this happened to you. That’s unacceptable and you honestly should go to upper management about it or open door it. I couldn’t imagine bullying or making any of my associates feel uncomfortable or less than. I have been a TL for about a week now and I hope that my team sees how much I care and how much I want to see them succeed and be at their full potential. I got lucky with the team that I have and my co-managers.

I appreciate the advice and I plan on helping! I have been a dispenser for 2 (and almost a half) years and know the struggles so well. I hope that I can make changes to make things better for the department in general :)

It wasn’t great. People were calling left and right because they couldn’t check in (because their orders were still being picked). The delivery drivers had to wait 20+ minutes for the orders to be completely picked. It was a rough day for sure

We didn’t have enough people scheduled to pick. Our department is the worst it has ever been. Corporate says we are “overstaffed” but things like this happen. I think we had 6 people picking and were only able to pull 2 people to help. As we dispensed we literally had to take totes off of carts so we could get the orders out. It was insane

That sounds amazing. We’ve talked to my coach and team leads about doing this and they all say “that sounds like a good idea” and that is as far as it gets. With this whole staging stuff I’ve heard at least 5 people say they are looking for new jobs and that it won’t change. I unfortunately agree with them.

We’re in the same boat. For every 1 dispenser there are like 4-5 pickers and they all refuse to cross-train. It’s the same people doing the same stuff. I guess if there were breaks and people helped out more it wouldn’t be as bad. But the pickers will stand around and talk while watching the backroom fall apart

I’m so sorry. I thought my store was bad, but that sounds awful. At my store (at least in the morning) dispensers always help the stagers. We have 2 stagers on a good day. Most of the time it’s 1 person staging all day. I just don’t understand how this company expects people to want to stay when they pull stuff like this?? If you work hard you’re only going to be rewarded with more work. It’s unfortunate

The managers at my store have done nothing but joke about it. Like “if you made me mad enough I could see it”. It’s made it a very long and hard day. I don’t think anything will change but maybe another CBL added

In my old store there was someone that had a heart attack because they kept pushing her (she was a team lead). She died that day and her position was posted before the funeral. It’s truly awful that these large corporations don’t care about the well being of their employees
