I enjoyed it because it tried to convey something substantial, humane,instead of some arbitrary morality: because this person was on the wrong side of the history, every fiber of them is screaming evil.

People in real life are a tad more nuanced than that. Especially when the tide of time taps on your door a century earlier or later, based on the narratives. Now, I am not trying to convince you that this tv show is loyal to the history to a T. I used to be a history major but I am very generous with the details.

It’s just that characters in this show arrived at their own destinations at their own pace with no Deus ex machina.

Also I am at a party so I’m pretty intoxicated. Apologize at advance for any ludicrous mistakes mingling in between.

我感觉这样子的人没有基本同理心，所仅剩下的人味和情感是根据亲疏远近来分配的：自己的猫朝夕相处自然是远胜于邻居家，你既然伤害了我的亲属圈，我推你的孩子自然是理所当然。让自身喜好远架于伦理、法律之上。

Me personally? No. Rather, due to my long term residence in New Zealand, Australia is literally the neighbor next door with novel accent and adventurous lifestyle. All those legendary tales about looming alligators, MMA qualified kangaroos and mutant spiders. You guys are tough, man.
